It seems like even looking at the trade board now is just all cycling and everyone wants TBT and has more than enough IGB...I am flip on that. But it's sad when most void ones not high popularity then we talk about loving all villagers or some t 3 and below. But I have been three days trying to find adopters for Jay the Bluejay jock and Blanche the snooty ostrich and free but no interest so one t 3 one 5 but to see them voided I hate that. Do people only cycle and not actually look for themselves anymore...
It used to be easy to do a give, and NL carts are fairly cheap 20 so most people have two towns I would think being two years in...but does everyone just go by lists or is it all sellers now and no seekers. I hate voiding people.
Anyone not go by the list, I've stopped looking it isn't based on factual math or anything...

I don't cycle simply because I love all my villagers, even the ones I wasn't happy with when they first moved into my town.

But then I've always been oddly sentimental when it comes to these games.

If I had another game, I would cycle on and off when I have time. On my main town, I don't cycle nor I time travel. :P

I'm scared to cycle because I don't want to accidentally void one of my favourite villagers~ And when I time travel I tend to take a long time to go to the next day because I like checking up at the shops, talking to the villagers and digging up any fossils I see.

That's because everywhere has its own "tier rating". Here, the tiers are based on what most of the TBT users want. If you look on other forums the tier system will be a lot different, which is why I personally never consider using it when selling/buying a villager because it's mostly inaccurate.

I have no problem with cycling, even if it is exploiting the move-in mechanism.

I think cycling is a good way to help people get their dreamies. I'm not going to cycle because I only have one town but if I had doubles I would. Plus, it's a good money maker.

I try to giveaway my villagers that are moving, regardless of their tier, precisely for this reason. Just because Blanche is not ranked highly does not mean that she isn't wanted by someone (I wanted her and thankfully someone listed her and my friend got her for me). I think it makes sense to auto-void if you are going for speed, but it does make it very difficult to acquire lower-ranking villagers :c

They're virtual pixels that aren't unique and many people have them. You'll get over voiding them.

I cycle mainly to get all my friends their dreamies and to hold villagers for people... when I cycled for reals and had a thread and everything, I only voided about 1/4th of all the villagers I had in my town. Now you see the void list 3 times as long as the adopt list... I hated voiding, but now I sometimes have to.

To snapdragon, they were being given away they were leaving town was making dream town space to finish dream quest and no one wants them...I still have them up have been sick a few days so am hoping..I mean are free I hate to ever void a leaver and I'm not cycling they're just leaving...

I do plan to though eventually for IGB purposes and I got an extra copy and second ds as gift but still wouldn't void no problem with the system in itself just hate seeing villagers hit the wall.

Thanks guys, things have changed a lot on the voiding side, wise advice that sometimes you must but having been a t 4 or 5 seeker I hate thinking..someone may be looking for this..but things change and back again and all that. Good too hear opinions from non and cyclers both esp the last on the void list before..

You have no choice but to void some villagers. The do NOT ping, so they go into boxes without warning.

I post every villager that moves in, and have full disclosure on who will be voided. When I had Blanche (free, btw) I had 3-4 people who wanted her. Rasher, on the other hand, well...he needs to be deleted from the game, frankly.

If you plan to cycle, you need to be ok with voiding. It has to happen.

BTW...Bonbon just moved into my cycle town...she is free. (I see her in your siggy)

^^ She always tries to give people a chance. I see that she has to void them a lot, but she doesn't have a choice.

Everyone cycles differently but that is part of the cycling. I agree, voiding is no fun and it isn't fair in the game.

Dani and I might want to make a cycling thread together once I an extra cartridge this paycheck :) We want to help others get their dreamies, mainly that is the reason we all cycle ^.^

Very true! If you read the last comment by a member that has been searching for Zucker, you will see that the vast majority of of people who receive villagers from cycling towns are extremely grateful that they have the opportunity to get a villager that they may not otherwise ever even see in their town.

Everybody has a different perspective on how the game should be played, why they play the game, and how they view their villagers. In the end, it is just a game. Villagers are no more than computerized cartoons. They do not have feelings! (Except my Mira, who loves me very much!)

I've fallen in love with a lot of tier 4-5 villagers in my cycling town and had to void them. As others have said you can't choose who pings, and I usually want to get my reserved villagers out ASAP, and not everyone is going to want every villager. If I was to give Barold three days to be adopted, in all likelihood he wouldn't be adopted, but Diana would be taken in minutes. The tier list exists for a reason. c:

I have a cycling town because I felt I need it. I was trying to get my dreamies a year ago and just couldn’t win any bids on them. I broke the bank getting Dianna and then got sad when I couldn’t even come close to competing to get Apollo and Fang. After calculating how many hours on the island getting beetles I would have needed to get that kind of money I figured it was clear that the 35$ on a second cartridge to put into my second 3ds (Cause I was an idiot and bought the first 3DS model, only to have to upgrade when the Zelda 3DS XL came out).

I wouldn’t have anywhere near the villagers I wanted without it. I cycled the ones I was looking for into my main town. That’s how I got Merenge, Stitches, Marshal (Though funny story about that one hahaha), Julian, Poppy (And also Whitney/Wolfgang before they left to surprise move outs). I also made 50M selling the other popular ones I didn’t want as they came up. Though most of the time if someone really wanted a villager I would actually give them away for free or reduce the price. My asking prices were usually to deter people who were looking to resell.

I felt cycling was a bit of an issue because it inflated the economy a bit. People were able to get lots of bells for very little time with a second cartrage and 3DS. But especially now with people accepting currency from The Bell Tree forums it allows people to get their dreamies and it puts more top tier dreamies into the pool for people to pick up, effectively reducing the price per villager. If there were less people cycling you’d see even more ridiculous prices on villagers like Marshal because there would be less of them in the marketplace. For me it allowed me to forward on some of the most expensive villagers and it gave me a lot of rainy day money in a short amount of time that didn’t require 100 hours of beetle farming.

I'm planning to make a cycling town so I can get more variety in my other two towns. Once I get better at the process I think it'd be fun to help others get villagers they want.
