it's gender neutral. so i see both.
I said I know it can be for both but I want to know if it leans more toward male or female.
But I don't think it's learned more towards either. I think it's equal between males and females, which I think should be an option.
Can I ask why you're asking?
Is it for a character or yourself or something?

I have a high level character in a video game named Dakota. In this video game, names can't be typed in so they have preset names for you to choose. He is a male character. Recently, people have been shocked when they meet me because they think I he's going to be female. I recently put on some armor that hides my face so people keep referring to me as a female. I just never knew it was a girl name.
Sounds like a girl name, mostly for the "ta". I'm just speaking more on my Latin roots than a westernize one. Masculine/and feminine wordings in Spanish and such. But that's a ugly name, reminds me of total drama island.
okay i understand that but not everyone puts a gender on a name, **** dude.
to me the name is gender neutral. that's just how i work.
i don't see a guy having it over a girl, or a girl having it over a guy. it's just n e u t r a l.
If it bugs you then I'd suggest picking a name that's like 100% used on guys but yeah Dakota goes pretty even both ways.
I've only met one person named Dakota though and he's a dude so
It reminds me of people who go "Um sweetie I'm not white I'm 0.002% Cherokee"
This is the character btw
