So I'm considering buying another copy of ACNL, is it fun having 2 towns? Is it worth it? Are there any advantages to having 2 copies?

I have 14 towns and it's a lot of fun. Setting each town on a different date or season is nice. No playing the same event on all copies.

If you have a spare 3DS or can borrow one it helps with turnips, premium fruit days at retail, host/visiting,streetpass and weeding badges.
You could set the 2nd copy to a spare town for awhile and just grow weeds. When Leif is outside you can pull weeds and both players get a prize. You can also get fossils, artwork and catch bugs/fish that aren't in season in your 1st copy. When 1st copy has a high turnip price at retail you could time travel to Sunday on your 2nd copy. Buy/Sell on the same day.

I'd say it is. With a second copy you can do all kinds of things if you have it and a spare ds to use. Other than that, having two towns would be interesting with different villagers and a new layout. It also give you the chance to do a new theme for the new town. You definitely won't be bored with two.

I got 3 towns cause I had a great idea for a themed town, but couldn't do it in New Town. Once I got a second system, I got my second town. It's great having multiple towns. I'm not bored with a town, I have 3 different themes to do, three different towns to landscape each in there own unique way, 3 different characters with their own style, and I currently have 3 different seasons, full summer, transitioning to fall, and full on winter.

It gets even better if you have two systems, but the above mentioned works if you only have 1 system to play on.

I think it’s worth it. My first town is at a point where my landscaping is complete and there’s not really much else for me to do in it. I don’t feel like changing it or starting that town over, so I got a second copy to basically play the game all over again :)

I love that idea for being able to have different seasons at the same time! But the problem is having the time to play both towns. Maybe some day because I LOVE the idea!

I have two copies of the game. On the first copy, I "finished" my town in terms of landscaping and almost everything else. There's not much left to do so I found myself growing a little bored.

I got the second copy because I wanted to start fresh but didn't want to delete my other town I had worked so hard on. It was nice to start again with a different map, new villagers and new ideas for how I wanted to develop my town. There were so many town themes I was interested in so I was able to explore a different one in my second town. I'm glad I got my second copy.

All of the above posts are correct. As the possessor of multiple cartridges and 2/3DSs, the only considerations I can add are if the cost is not a problem and you have the time to manage more than one at a time. Best wishes whatever YOU decide.

I just recently bought a second copy and it's so much fun! Even though it's the same game, it's not boring at all. I like being able to experience everything over again without having to reset my first town. It gave me a chance to really plan it out the way I'd like, especially since I already had an idea of what my goal was for it.

Make sure that you're in a good spot in your existing town to manage both at the same time, or at least have enough time on your hands to balance it out between the two.

Overall, I would definitely say it's worth it.

I have two copies, Iva and Nighgate. I got another one due to not wanting to reset a 5 year old town, that I have never re-started. So when I created Nighgate I started to play less and less on Iva and no I don't even play on Iva anymore. ^^'

I would say that if you like your current town but also like to reset then get another copy~

I've been wondering the same about getting a second copy, because I kinda wanna restart but I really don't want to abandon my town that I've had for 4 years!

Tee-Tee this is what I worry about, if I got a second copy I'd still probably abandon my first town because I don't have the time/concentration/can't be bothered to keep up 2 towns!
