Is anyone getting roaches?

Guy so I've been playing activley and so have my sisters but today when me and my sisters went into their homes there were roaches running around! It's been raining quite activley like all day for the past week so does that have to do with it or is it set already by the game?

Well I DID enact the early bird ordinance yesterday instead of beautiful town could that be why ?

Yes. Without the Beautiful Town Ordinance, roaches will appear. I'm not completely sure how roaches work since I've had the Beautiful Town ordinance from the start but I think you can prevent them just by checking in regularly. Not just on your main character but side characters as well, if the house isn't being used they'll appear more, I think.
