Hi, so, my original iPad Mini was having difficulties with its home button last night. It worked, but you had to press pretty hard for it to pick up, and later that night it just wouldn't work at all. I've actives the assertive touch feature so I can still access things the home button used to, but I'd really like a fix for this.

This happened to my mom's too. It is unfortunately just poor build quality. You would probably need to send it to Apple or a repair shop to get it fixed, which would be very expensive. Apple sucks.

I'll probably just leave it. The warranty is no doubt over and I have a newer iPad anyway. It's not that big of a deal, but it still sucks because I'll have to get used to the assertive touch thingy. Thanks for the advice!

that's a bummer! the same thing happened to one of my older iPhones so I ordered the replacement part & fixed it myself. I think I just got the part from Amazon & it was pretty cheap. You can also turn on Assistive touch & have the home button on your screen

Settings > General > Accessibility > turn on AssistiveTouch

you can customize it from that menu so it only has the Home button

Thank you! I already knew about the touch thing, though.
