Inventory Items Question

What happens if I configure a collectible in my inventory? Also, why can't i gift some items in the inventory (the option for gift is not there.)?

Rlly curious and I don't want to risk anything by configuring... thank you.

I don't think it does anything in the case of the former question. As for the latter question, that's just how it's programmed by admins. It's done intentionally with larger mailboxes, some addons, collectibles like the AIPFG10, and birthstones that have been gifted to you.
