International Island experiences/opinions?

Hey guys,

so today I gathered the 50 medals and became a member of the Tortimer Club, which unlocks the International island.
When I went there, I expected to be dropped in a pile with other players running around everywhere- but there was no one . This was probably due to me chosing my country only (Netherlands appears not to be so popular). So I went to the Worldwide Island and was dropped with two girls who only spoke Chinese (Or Japanese... or something with an asian alfabet idek). XD
We were experiencing a bit of a language barrier when doing the tour hahaha.

This wasn't really what I was expecting though, I was expecting it to be a lot more crowded and chatty? What are your experiences on the international island? Do you prefer to play alone or with others?

Edit: One Japanese girl left, the other one is chasing me around with an axe while I try to catch bugs o-o

my experiences on the international island have been.. odd, lol. living in the US, it's much easier to find people on my country island than it sounds for you though. I've had nice people who go on tours with me and we just spend time catching things together, but I've also played with people who deliberately scare away bugs or fish I'm trying to catch, one girl who was very inappropriate, and very often just afk people who stand in the way and block bugs from spawning.

I'll often prefer playing alone, haha.
