I'm sure it's happened to all of us. A villager's house gets put on top of something beloved, or the placement of their house is awkward or bothersome to you.

I used to have all of my fruits in 3 x 3 grids, and my pears were put in a place I thought would be unlikely for anyone to move into. They were in a corner up against a curved wall, right in front of the river. Then Dizzy the elephant showed up and I lost all of my pears for a while. Now I keep a basket of each fruit in a museum exhibit.

There's a very thin strip of land on the north-east part of my town, that I thought was too narrow for a house, so I had my perfect apples set arranged there, behind the fountain PWP. That's where Rudy's house ended up being placed.

The river in my town really screws with me. The river starts out pretty low in the bottom-left of my town, leaving a thin strip that for whatever reason, constantly gets houses placed there. It's so narrow that in order to get to most of the houses, there's really no place to walk in order to avoid killing the grass. I can't put road designs down because the houses are always positioned awkwardly. Bubbles is situated in the middle of Keaton, Blanche, and Melba's houses, so trying to get to her in hopes that she'll ( ! ) and suggest moving out is a stealth mission.

Ahhhh the worst Dx I have this problem right now...I like Pippy, but she placed her house right in front of the town hall so I'm going to have to tell her to move out once she suggests it :( Too bad because she's really sweet.

Sorry to see you apparently have more than one problem with this! :(

When I started my town, Mabel's house was right in front of town hall. Poor girl never had a chance. I moved her out as fast as I could. I've had a few unfortunate placements, but nothing terrible in awhile.

I now plot reset, but I also put PWPs in places around town to control it as much as I can. I have a bench in front of my house, and lights near bridges. It's not the only reason I place PWPs, but when I'm deciding where to put something, controlling villager plots does come into it. I'm now maxed out on PWPs, so I'm having to move things around.

Story of my life since I basically never plot reset. Right now I have a villager right in front of where I wanted a bridge. I try not to let it bother me though.

my lifeeeee omg

i don't plot reset but i try and convince myself the house placement isn't THAT bad..
merry moved 1/2 spaces in front of my house when she was my dreamie, it was so frustrating. i felt like not even playing i was so annoyed... i told myself it looked fine, and that it was she just wanted to be close to me but i was never 100% okay with it. so, now, she's gone. cherry recently moved on top of my perfect farm, a place i didn't even know anyone could move because of the cliff edge, ponds, and my 3rd character's house. it sucks. i recently plot recent for erik though for the first time, and the first place he moved was right in front of my house again. i'm glad i plot reset, but idk if i'm confident/patient enough to do it again .-.

although now the only bad placed villagers in my town are the ones i dislike anyways so i'm just gonna like cry until they leave

Fuschia plotted her house a couple steps away from Town Hall, which looks awful. I have a whole arrangement planned for that spot whenever she decides to leave.
Sucks because I really like her, but her house placement makes keeping her not even worth a second thought.

Oh yeah. Zucker's house is as close to my Town Hall as possible, to the point where his house nearly obscures some of the stone in front of the building. I picked him up via StreetPass at a Pok?mon tournament so I didn't have the chance or foresight to plot reset, but I basically adored him from day one so I've just accepted the fact that the area around my town hall will always be less aesthetically pleasing than I'd like.

Some time last year, I had Marina. She actually used to be one of my dreamies, and is a really nice villager, but her house was in a horrible spot- right in front of town hall. So no matter how much I liked her, the fact that her house was in such a stupid-looking position constantly bothered me. I finally decided to let her go when she asked to move a few months ago. I can't overlook horrible house placement, honestly. I used to just let villagers move in wherever but now I plot reset all the time.

Marshal recently just moved in, and moved into a pretty bad spot. He moved into my "natural" area, and now I have to switch things around. his house is also obscuring one of my PWPs which I have to move now

Ankha did this just a couple of days ago! I don't plot reset but I have a lot of PWPs around and generally my guys plunk themselves in close to the same spots as previous villagers. Except Ankha's a cat and so, true to form, she positioned herself right in the way, where everyone walks, half-overtop of one of my main pathways. Good thing the path was already slightly angled and I had room to move around her.

To protect my trees and hybrids, I generally plant at least one or two far away from the others, so that in the event of an annoying plot, I don't lose everything.

I remember when I first got Stitches and Vesta in my town I got so tired of plot resetting them that I just let them be wherever they decided to go. I dont really care for either of the places theyre at, but I dont have the heart to have them move out in order for me to cycle through to get them again. However out of the two Vesta is in the worst spot, right next to retail. I think once I do some more landscaping around their houses that Ill come to like where they are located more.

Someone's voided Stitches (who voids Stitches?) showed up in my town recently. He pretty much placed his house right in front of my new bridge. Ugh. I suppose it could have been worse though... Could have been Curlos or someone else I highly dislike.

Honestly I got lucky with this, no villagers are really in the way of anything, but most of my villagers thought it would be a good idea to scrudge all their houses in one spot, so there's just a vertical line of 5 houses all the way on the far right side of my island.

I never plot reset when I first started the game or even after a couple years so a lot of my villagers are in annoying spots. I've only recently started plot resetting and it's showing me how annoying Whitney's house placement is. I love having her in my town (even though she is one of two snooties) but I feel like my town would just be so much better if her house was somewhere else. I'll probably let her go if she ever asks to move out.

I also recently adopted Cheri, and I've been really looking forward to having her in my town. I totally forgot the next day that I was supposed to be plot resetting for her and I started up my mayor file and her house was in a not so great spot. She could have really screwed up my town is she had gone somewhere else, but her plot right now is annoying too. I'm gonna keep her though. I really wanted her so she's staying :)

I still remember how horrified I was back in my old days of not plot-resetting when I loaded up the game and caught a random move-in, Roald, moving right in front of one of my bridges, river, rock, and trees. The bitterness of me knowing that not even a 1x1 PWP would be allowed near there combined with that horrid spot in general made me despise him and pray that he would move out soon enough. Him being a jock didn't help.

Thankfully he not only moved out not too long after coming in, but he also went to a good home in another town and I got 3 million bells for him!

I finally got one of my villagers to move out and now I can put my playground where they were. Coach is somewhat blocking one of my paths but not too much so I can deal with it. Hans is not nessesarily blocking a path but he is not in an area where I like because it only gives me one space to walk past his home. I have one spot open for a villager to move in so I'm nervous where they are going to move in. I don't have any more character slots, so I can't customize where they move in my turning off the game with a new character. I hate that villagers can move anywhere they want. They can destroy so much of what I worked on and if u don't play all the time then villagers can move out and new one move in all the time. I really hope for future games they let you deside where villagers go or at the very least have signs like they did in wild world as to where they could possibly be so I can prepare if they do move in one of those spots.
