If I got to be honest, these awards are a lot easier to obtain than the medals ever were in NL. At least this one is doable. You wouldn't be able to achieve 100% on NL unless you were in a heavily populated area so you could get street passes.
I'm worried about the Dreaming Nook Mile achievement...

Now that I think about it, since the dream suite is locked behind the subscription, it makes sense that there isn't a nook achievement for dreams. Visiting/ Hosting can be done locally, so they can put in an achievement for it.

It never bothered me too much in nl. Just add it to your daily stuff. Get fossils, water flowers, do one dream, etc. It'll take awhile, but if you don't focus on the amount you'll get there eventually.
B-b-but it’s free miles. There’s no catch. You just collect as you go, and you can spend it on stuff like tickets and furniture (Though I guess I can MAYBE understand if you have no need for Nook Mile items).

The so called furniture is an eyesore.
NM tickets are useless to me as are the islands.

But since that is an issue that the vast majority of players don't have a problem with, I don't think that's on Nintendo's list of priorities. But to each their own!
