I'm sort of debating to reset my town or not.

This is a huge concern for me because I have a few ups and downs with resetting my Town.

Ups of resetting:
-Starting new, Might get a better layout
-Will be happy to change my Mayor's eyes (I'm not currently too happy with the ones I have ATM.
-"Fapville" will get a much better clean name so I can advertise it around the forum without warning.
-My Mayor will have my real name instead of Hyogo.
-Being able to get Villagers who left my town before again (If I feel like it)

Downs of resetting:
-Pathwork, Trees and PWP's will all be gone.
-Won't have anyone to hold my villagers. (Unless I go ahead and trust a Cycler)
-Losing my hard earned badges (5 Gold, 8 Silver and a few Bronze)
-Losing my over 50% earned Catalog (This was harder to get than it sounds)
-Loads of effort on Path placement, Flowers and Bushes which were purchased/farmed.
-Alot of placed PWP's.
-Money used for paying my loan, gifts for myself/friends will seem wasted.
-Losing all the shops and their upgrades to be earned again.

I dunno, Any advice from people who've reset their towns before?

I didn't reset by choice, but im actually glad it happened (sd corruption)
I got a better layout, fruit I wanted, and luckily enough, grass pattern and train station color I would've liked. It was perfect. I built up a new town of villagers, things have better placement than before. Yeah PWP's and money is gone but meh, that can all be achieved again.

I just decided to reset yesterday. I thought about asking someone to hold all my hybrids, bells, and furniture, but then said ... eh, it's just stuff. I got a great layout, circle grass, and I'm rocking right along. I don't regret it.

Well, losing all the progress made sucks(my old town had T&T Emporium, I had 5M on my bank and had almost every classic and regal furnitures), but it also opens up things that you'll never discover before in the old town(if I didn't reset, I wouldn't have liked Diana as much as I do now).

Even though there are more down, the downs are things that can be regained.
A town name and mayor face and name can not. Your ups outweigh your downs, IMO. Mostly because the ups are things you can't redo, unlike villagers and PWP's and money

I've reset a few times, actually. If you're debating about it for a while, you'll only continue wondering what COULD happen until you actually do it. I think you should go for it. Yes you'll lose your work and items but it can be regained, and if you enjoy the layout of your map and appearance of your mayor more, you'll enjoy the process of earning the money and items back.
It feels completely fresh when you restart. You could go for a really different way of decorating/theming your town.

That's very true, The only thing I'd really like help with is holding all my Villagers (Or most atleast) and the 29 Million I have in my bank ATM.

If any Cyclers would be willing to help with my Villagers, That'd be fab. And I'd be willing to reset.
(For the Villagers I got for free like Marina, Lolly etc I wouldn't mind giving away.)

I just restarted because I hated my map, I had to transfer all the items I REALLY wanted over and gave away all my Villagers.

I can totally help you and hold your Villagers if you'd like, as long as you'd be able to pick them up as soon as they pinged/were in boxes. :)

I have an open space if you want to have someone move in, i'm about to buy a 2nd copy when I get paid on thursday so I don't mind storing things in my town!

I reset once because my map was AWFUL. But that was before I came here.

One of us could hold your stuff, including your money. Hey, it may be stuff, but it's stuff you like or special items, right?

Also, I wouldn't be happy if I didn't like my mayor's eyes and had to see them all the time.

I agree with the poster who said your pro's are greater in value than your cons.

And since you care so much to weigh the options instead of giving up the game - you'll get your badges back, regardless. So really, why not go for it?

I think you should reset. I'll bet you'll be sooo glad you did. I know I was. :)

ETA - I am currently holding stuff for someone who is resetting. But she'll likely be done some time today. Even if not, I have several towns. There are trees on the land and beach, but I could hold stuff for you if you want. The poster getting the new copy sounds like it would be easier, but don't be afraid to ask me if you want to start earlier or...whatever.

I'm going to leave the money and such to one of my friends I talk to often on here.
I just need someone/somepeople willing to hold a few more villagers of mine.

But yes, I'm going to Reset as soon as some people can hold onto more villagers for me and I transport my stuff to my friend's town.

I have one spot left in my town but I don't TT to move them out so it may take a while.

I recently reset, I didn't get anyone to hold villagers, and I completed more dreamies in a week (all 9 of 10 achieved in a week) than I did in 4 months.

The best bits are....
Instead of holding your favourite villager, reset til' you get them
Better layout
The joys of a fresh start
Changing things up a bit.

I reset because I lost Fauna, and was obviously trying to get her back.

I got people to hold items that I wanted to keep.

I would't mind resetting if unlocking everything didn't take 4 months, lol.

Well, I reset and Toyokawa's 10 Residents are;
-Dora
-Sly
-Gayle
-Chow
-Derwin
-Dotty
-Hippeux
-Maelle
-Katt
-Genji (Moving in soon)
(I'm going to probably void everyone who isn't Genji :c)

The map layout isn't half bad and I'm just trying to get great villagers before making my town look fancy.
The "B,B,B" Eyes are eally cute, I think my Mayor looks awesome with them, Just gotta color em green after I TT like heck to get lot of Shop upgrades.

I'm totally unsure of all the villagers I want but I surely would love to get Punchy and Rosie again.

Hi there! Good luck with your reset. You're gonna think I'm nuts, but can I have Maelle when she pings you? I kind of like her and I need a Snooty. She seems hard to find, because she mostly gets voided, LOL! I'd be happy to help with anything in return: storing stuff, hybrids/bells, etc. Just let me know. Thanks!

All my money and stuff has been returned back to me so that's all fine.
Otherwise I'm surprised, I'm quite looking forward to move her out but if you want her, I'll let you know when she's going.

Hippeux moved out yesterday, as soon as he pinged me I teared a little. (In a good way)

Thank you! Heh, I know she's not popular. I just like her flapper bob and sense of irony. I have Rasher in my town, too-- he moved in through the campsite and I was put off by him at first. I mean, to name a pig after bacon, and have him look like someone was trying to serve him up, is pretty graphic. But he's very funny and sweet! Weird pixels grow on you weirdly.
