So I currently run 3 towns, one of which I put on indefinite hiatus. Why? Because, well, I made myself hate that town.

I decided to make an all cat town, and I also decided that I would plot reset all of my villagers to be in nice rows and little sections, but two of the houses are still off (Lolly's house is a square back too far and Merry is at least 5 squares off) and one of my plans was ruined because I found out too late I couldn't place a villager where I wanted him so he had to be moved somewhere else. So not only do I have these annoyances, I have a whole load of issues with my town:

- Rocks in annoying places
- I hate the location of the plaza
- I hate my town and mayor name
- I don't like where I put the permanent pwps
- My villagers never requested pwps no matter WHAT I did, no matter how high my friend level, doing the diving trick, nothing. I have NO pwps to decorate my town with and I've had it over a year and still have pretty much only the default pwps, so my town is incredibly plain and boring

Normally I would just reset, however I've spent over 40 hours plot resetting and lost lots of time and sleep over it. Also I do love some of my villagers, especially Punchy, Bob, and Merry. Bob also sent me a sweet letter begging me never to disappear and I know he's just a virtual purple cat and he's not real but it'd break my heart to let him go. Merry also says the nicest things to me and makes me feel better.

Those 3 villagers aside, I do like my map in general, and I just got the final store upgrade with Gracies and all, and I'm close to 100 visitors for the train station pwp...but I really just don't know. I don't want to leave my villagers but I already haven't touched that town in weeks because I'm so frustrated by how much I dislike all the problems.

If it wasn't for those 3 villagers I'd just sell off all the villagers and reset the whole town but...I don't know. All the time I spent plot resetting, but still...the issues with Lolly and Merry's house placements...ugh. I want to smash my face into a wall.

The only alternative I can think of is to let all my villagers except those three go (and maybe keep Tom since I spent weeks looking for him) and not plot reset the ones that move in after and -hopefully- get more pwp requests or something but...I still don't know.

Ack, help!

Here's my map:

On the bottom right under the bridge there is a second house there now on that side of the bridge where my 10th is. But as you can see, two of the houses are off. The one on the left vertical row that's up a bunch further is Merry, and the one on the bottom row that's bumped up a bit is Lolly. Even on the map view it looks bad.

Lol it was enough work for me just to find 10 squirrels. No way I would plot reset like that. I think your map looks good

I don't really mind the cat hunting, I only had trouble finding Tom, everyone else was easy. I just wanted to have a really nice town with villagers all in nice rows like those fancy popular towns. I wanted to be cool too ;~; but it took so long to do that it made me hate my town

My first impression of your town map was: "It looks really good!!" I like it, it's organized and pleasant to the eye, I mean of course there might be little things that bug us, but all your hard work would go to waste if you reset. I don't have a strict answer but I can give you two points/sides that hopefully can help you think of what to do xD If you reset now the work will disappear, lose your close villagers, and start from the beginning again, but you can mold the town to the way you want it to be, the villagers can always be invited back again and possibly it will refresh the game so villagers might ping for public work projects more-not sure if that's a 100% true but yeah it can get boring if you can't spice the game up with new/different public work projects since that's one of the essence of the game. If you can find a way to work around and like it again then keeping it should be okay, but since there's many dislikes and problems, restarting is also a good idea. Sorry if there were any parts that sounded rude or anything or didin't make sense lol good luck with everything!

Oh wow! Since you put so much time and effort into your town already, would you consider cycling out the villagers who have misplaced houses, then having them move in again? It's so much more time and effort though... I really love your map!! An all cat town sounds fantastic ^_^

I know you can always replace villagers, but would they still feel the same to you? Like when I see Lopez in other towns I have no inclination to go and talk to him but I adore my Lopez because if feels like I really know him? Sounds sad? Haha
Your town layout is honestly great, I'd swap you! You've done a great job plot resetting to get your houses like that, mine are all over the place unfortunately:(

Not sure what to suggest about PWP's. That's very odd....do you spend enough time outside for them to ping? Or they're just pinging with random stuff? I've found it helps to have a PWP already being built in town, it can take hours sometimes though....and actually when I first started the game I didn't get a single suggestion for 2 months. Until I started digging holes around villagers and using the dive trick, have you tried them both together? Just an idea.

I hope you work this out, you really do have a great town map there!!

I think it looks good the way it is. :) You have spent so much time working on it don't reset it. Although you might get lucky...I had Flurry in my last town...Flurry is one of my dreamies. Then when I just couldn't take my town anymore...(for a lot of the reason you've listed) I reset. When I did, I got a shock! Flurry was one of the first animals to meet me at the train station! So you never know. Sometimes you just gotta take chances. Just go with what you feel is right for you, and your game. :)

I don't think letting go of your villagers will solve your problems. The things you hate can't be changed. I know you spent a lot of time on the town, but I don't think taking a break is going to make it better when or if you do come back later. After a year+ of getting no PWP requests, it doesn't look like you will be getting any. Maybe it's some sort of glitch. IMO, it would be better to start over. Really look carefully at the maps before choosing one. Make sure you like the building placements. Rocks will always be annoying, so you sometimes have to look past those. When you find the right map, you won't mind getting back the villagers. I played for more than 500 hours in my first town. I earned and spent tons of Bells, had almost all of the badges and I loved my villagers. But then I stopped enjoying it. I made the mistake of letting in lots of people and after I stopped playing with them, I hated hearing their names nonstop. Resetting was the best choice I could have made. It was either that or stop playing all together.
