I'm so tired of this...

Oh no. :(

I haven't had joycon drift yet (my Switch is new, just got it right before NH came out) but I fully expect it to happen at some point. The Playstation Vita actually had drift issues too and I managed to fix it myself with parts I bought. It was way cheaper to do that than buy a Vita. I wonder if this is possible to do for the Switch.

don't buy joy cons!
i was so stressed out with my joy cons too and i bought more which also broke barely a month later but at the same price you can just get the pro controller and it lasts way longer ☆
Honestly the pro controller is a dream. Played through the entirety of Xenoblade 2 (250 hours) and the DLC (40 more), played Smash Ultimate, played some BOTW and have played mostly all of AC with it and... it's just so good! Would recommend 100%

Mine is doing it too but it’s not too bad. A little annoying sometimes when placing fencing. I also accidentally gave someone medicine instead of an orange because of it lol

If you poke around the Switch reddit there are a lot of posts about being able to replace the joysticks with a fairly inexpensive kit. Personally I don't trust my shaky hands like that, lol.

My left joycon started drifting bad at the start of quarantine, so I took the excuse to get the purple one I wanted. Now my Switch looks dope as heck, being purple/blue.

I agree with what people are saying about the pro controller, it's really great and worth buying if you don't have one already!

But if you like playing in handheld mode a lot then joycons are pretty much essential, so it is very frustrating. My left one has also started drifting recently, probably since I've been playing handheld and using the joycons way more often since pokemon + animal crossing came out, so I feel your pain lol.

I did hear if you live in the US though apparently if you get in touch with nintendo they will repair your joycon for free if it's drifting, but I live in the UK so I couldn't tell you for sure! 😮

pro controllers are great, i've had the same one since they launched. i've heard good things about the regular controllers as well.

I actually gonna look into that !! because RIP joycons I have an original pair and a new pair I bought not too long ago and now they're both drifting and I'm poor and out of a job lol

I second this, get yourself a controller, even third party ones are more reliable than joycons

I guess I’m gonna go put my Target Red Card to use again. I don’t really want to buy a pro controller used.

The quality of my gameplay changed drastically when I switched to the Pro Controller as well. I couldn't recommend it enough. I'm also nasty and have sweaty hands so the joycon's plastic grips were getting super gross and sticky (same thing happened to my 3DS after a few hundred hours ;o; ). The Pro Controller uses a different material so it's a lot smoother and easier on my fingers~

If you play in TV mode a lot, you should consider the pro controller or try to fix the joycon drift with some rubbing alcohol. If you play in portable mode a lot, you could try the officially licensed HORI controller. Cheaper, and well reviewed. I've been wanting to get a pair myself. Only thing it lacks seems to be HD rumble which isn't a huge deal.

O_O am I finally going to be comfortable enough to play in handheld mode again?

Bought the pro controller and took awhile to get used to, but I now find the joy con more fiddly and fragile afterwards! Think of it as an investment, if that helps!

I actually have a pro controller that I bought a while back for my birthday, its a Zelda one and I haven't used it yet

I'm so scared of this because I play on the Lite (got it specifically for AC) as I really prefer gaming in hand-held and it brings back all the 3DS feels.
I did actually get a pro controller a few days ago so I could play and have my Lite on a stand just to give it a bit of a break.
