I almost named one of my mayors Isabelle because it is my g-grandma's name...but decided against it because it would feel odd to have two Isabelles in town. But at least the b-days are not shared.

I can't see why it creeps you out, but I can see why you would not want to use your own name. That sucks. At least mine is not the same as another villager's. Any of them, actually.
