Guys. We have to pay the fine due to our dog had bit another person. It's by law to put a dog down when it has bit somebody to give them rabies. :\

Hooray for over-paranoid governments! I would hardly think its a Rabies thing, more like because after biting someone that dog is declared dangerous, unless the person it bit says that he/she provoked the animal.

That is true, then again you do get the occasional person who would step forward and say they provoked the animal.

i dont know what i would do without my dog, i love her so much like a sister.
and as for people having to put their pets down because they bite someone, thats pretty stupid. some dogs were breed for a certain purpose. and most of the time when they bite u, its because they are protecting themselves or their owners. no need to put them down.

True... But usually it's done when they're in misery, I don't know what's harder.. Watching your dog slowly die, or be put to sleep, either way, it's depressing My Uncle's dog was put down.. I'm sorry for your loss Hobo =(

Of course I don't want to see the dog suffer. When I said 'if my dog was put to sleep....I'd probably be close to suicide' I didn't mean it in a selfish way. I meant that I would feel horrid if my dog was put to sleep. Obviously. I wouldn't want to see my dog dead for any purpose, nor would I want her to be put to sleep, but if it's going to stop the suffering then it's fine. I wouldn't like it. No one would, but it would have to be done.

And with what you said, unless an animal is put to sleep because they were vicious, that would be horrible, which is the issue of this case. And no, vets don't do anything bad, but I personally don't like them, hence the 'I think veterinarians are horrible' in my post.
