Im not ready for a new AC

I feel like I'd only really enjoy it if it was on the ds... I've never enjoyed the games like city folk that were on the wii and GameCube and things.
I do think the good thing about animal crossing is that every new game kind of builds on the previous. So I'd guess in the new one there will still be some kind of Mayor type of system. Though I'm hoping that the characters other than the mayor will have more control over the town. It's annoying to have to switch all the time

That's disappointing that the NX handheld console wont be wireless to a TV because wireless would be easier for the player because you wouldn't have to hook it back up a lot if you go places with the handheld console a lot... but if they do make a new AC I hope they make it for the 3ds too because the NX seems like a waste of money, until Nintendo proves that its a decent console that's my opinion.

Yeah, don't bank on that. Animal Crossing will be used as means to get people into the NX seat. There will not be a 3DS iteration of the next game, I 100% assure you of that. The 3DS is old and outdated(was when it was released...) and Nintendo will not want to be supporting it a year and a half into the NX life.

i probably won't be getting the NX though because it seems like a gimmicky console like the Wii U - we had one and NEVER played it because there were just no good games. so unless nintendo actually puts out a decent array of games, i really don't think it'll be worth it.

it would be really dumb of nintendo to kill off the 3DS because it's such a big seller - but they're well known for just killing off consoles so who knows.

worst comes to worst i will have to be content with new leaf and hhd for a while....

You don't have to stop playing New Leaf just because a new game comes out. I still play Wild World fairly frequently!

You don't understand the gaming industry, do you? Companies don't "kill off" consoles. Every console release, be it a handheld or console has a lifespan. Popularity can carry it a few years out from the release of the next iteration (PS2 had releases nearly two years after the PS3 came out), but a company will never keep one going forever, no matter how popular it may be. Tech becomes cheaper and devs want to take advantage of it. The 3DS may see releases after the NX comes out, but they won't be Nintendo games, and eventually everyone else will jump ship. It is the life cycle of all consoles and handhelds.

Fearing the NX might be gimmicky is one thing, but the rest is pure ignorance.

A new animal crossing game is always welcome. If you want to still play ACNL, do it. Blue Cup is right, if there is no new game on the new console, it would be pretty much dead like F-Zero. I still have hopes that nintendo is on the works for a new Metroid game, so METROID IS NOT DEAD Blue Cup!

i'm sorry i'm clearly not as informed as you about the gaming industry, but there was no need to be rude.

Yeah I'm definitely putting some thought into buying the NX when it comes out.

Hmm, that comment didn't come across as rude to me at all, just matter-of-fact. Ignorance isn't a bad thing - we're all ignorant about countless things, it would be impossible to be well informed about absolutely everything. Now, *willful ignorance* is a different matter entirely..

Eh, tone is hard to convey and interpret online. Hopefully we can just keep doing our best and taking the good with the bad.

You never found any games that worked for you on the Wii U? That's a shame, we've gotten SO much more use out of mine than we ever expected to. My partner loves the gamepad so much he'll choose to play games on it instead of the pc! It's cool how we all enjoy different things.

:)

Same with me. I prefer my own one instead of sharing one. And I can take it round to my friends houses and go out with it.

But overall new leaf is getting old. I've been playing it for 3 years now, so they are probably going to be expecting the audience to go off new leaf in a year or so so they want to churn out another to keep them interested.
