I'm new & would like visitors!

Hello! I'd like visitors to my town; I really want to be able to remodel my train station. If you come over, please don't run or chop down my trees or take flowers. But feel free to shake trees and take the fruit (I have all of them, including island ones), and buy anything from the shops.

Also I have never done anything like this before and I'm really not even sure how it works, so if someone could give me an overview of how online town-visiting works (or give me a link to a good summary) that would be much appreciated.
