What exactly is the purpose of bells on this website?

P.S I have a learning disability so don't use big words

The bells on this site is like money like it is in the game. We call them 'TBT'.
You can earn them by making comments under posts on most boards or making new threads, or make them by selling in-game items to others at the Nook's Cranny board.

Then you can use them to buy collectibles: Here, they are the little item boxes that are sitting under a lot of user avatars (like mine). Some may only be available during events, making them rare. But if you have enough bells you can sometimes find them at the TBT Marketplace from another user who is selling them.

Edited: I forgot to mention that you can use them to buy items for your game as well from Nook's Cranny board.

The way to use/exchange bells with another user is to click onto the bells of that user's (circle in red).



A box would show up like this:

And you add the amount of bells the other user is asking for.
