Hi guys, I haven?t been on here for a while.

I recently picked my 3DS up again after two years!

Now I?ve kinda done everything I wanted to do to it & I?m getting a little bored.

What did you guys do once you?d done everything you wanted to do? I don?t wanna restart, cause I love most of my villagers!

Any inspiration or any advice for me? 😊

I know you don't want to restart, but maybe upload your town to the dream suite and restart anyway. That way you can always go back to your old town whenever you want, but you still have the option of playing a new town and not being bored. Or you can try to find a used copy somewhere for cheap.

I really tend to get bored of my game unless I create a new objective for myself. For me, I constructed new paths, and I also created a new character and decorated their house in a slightly different theme than my mayor?s house. I also switch up the setup every once in a while. That tends to give me some motivation!
I also bought myself a second town and am creating a totally different theme for it. And doing basically everything I can?t do in my first town. I?ve been playing it a lot since then!

Don't restart. See if you can get New Horizons when it comes out.

Either get a second copy and start a new town or create new characters (if you don't have all 4 already) and play as them for a while. If you didn't complete your museum or catalog yet, try to complete them. Or just spend some time visiting other player's dream towns. That's what I did back then when I was bored sometimes and didn't know what to do.

Right now, I'm at this level. I wanna drop the game and move on to something else, but I also kinda want to finish my bug/fish encyclopedia and collect all badges. I don't wanna keep checking if any of my favorite villagers are planning on moving out. If I dropped the game right now, I feel I probably wouldn't look back, unless there's a contest or something (maybe nt even then).

This is part of the reason I didn't want to start Animal Crossing New Leaf and I put it aside when I first bought it - I knew It'd take up most of my time like the past titles did and I'd have to keep on top of it or just accept my favorite villagers leaving town. :( But at least the past titles were funner - they had better music and more enjoyable villager dialogue. :(

I loved Wild World, but eventually you'll want to move on even if it is a fun game. After years of not touching WW, when I booted it up again for ACOSW, I quickly realized I couldn't go back to it.

I haven't added any decorative patterns on my town floors or begun construction mainly because if I did, then I would really have nothing fun left to move me foward.

I guess the only tip I can give you is open up a shop and sell items to give you a motive to keep playing. Definitely do not start a new town, unless you have an extra cartridge, in my opinion. If it were me, at least, I would totally regret erasing all my progress to start anew--only to quickly get bored of the repetitiveness anew, since I already know the ups and down of New Leaf/what's going to happen and all the items I can unlock. The villagers don't have much to say and are rarely funny in New Leaf, the music is pretty bland aside from a few, so I mostly leave my game off until I'm up for playing it again or I have to make a delivery.

Or wait for Horizons to recharge your Animal Crossing batteries. :)

I agree with everyone else on this one, objectives are the easiest way to keep it fun. Go for that 100% in everything, badges, museum, catalog, etc. But maybe you already completed everything and already did all the super cool decorating and landscaping some towns do.

In that case, I'd suggest get a new cartridge. Kuriboh is right that if you restarted your current save, you'd probably get bored and abandon it. I think it's more fun to have a new game AND an old game, so you can go back to your 'roots' and enjoy what endgame is like. I think it's easy to forget how limiting the early game is and how you'll be forced to either TT or wait it out day by day just to gain the same freedom you have in your original town.

If you start over and get bored, you'll lose EVERYTHING. And for what, an abandoned half-way started new game? Not worth it. Whole new cartridge all the way.

I think another way to stay interested is to seek the social aspect. That's what's working for me right now ! I haven't stopped enjoying the game, still have badges to shoot for, but joining this forum and helping others get things has really restarted my interest in the game ! Seriously, go to the Re-tail section of the forums and browse people's wishlists/buy orders. If you can reasonable obtain things or already have them, just accept ! Making others happy and visiting others can really help.

Basically, if you feel "done" with your town and solo playing, maybe you'll have more fun helping others get to that point. :) And hey, this is coming from someone who came back after four years !

Everyone else is right. Believe me, don't start over. There isn't a whole lot to do in the beginning of the game and if you start over, it will be pretty boring. Like others have said, start a shop or browse the forums and interact with others. I personally love helping others out, as it makes me feel really good. It might for you too!

If you haven't completed everything in your game, try focusing on that too. Finish the bug and fish collection, donate everything to the museum, get main street completed if you haven't already, max out all of you villager's friendship levels, etc. Doing all of this is sure to keep you going. Also, if you do take a break, feel free to do so. I find sometimes taking a few day break can help me come back into the game.

Don't give up on it, New Leaf is a very good game, but if you feel burnt out, try taking a break till New Horizons comes out in a few months. It's what I'm doing right now and I'm sure once the new game comes out, I'll get back into Animal Crossing very easily and I'll be sure to enjoy the game even further. :)
