I'm having issues adding people.

Basically what the title said. I see most people adding each other, but for some reason I can't do that. There are four icons on my bottom screen, and on yt when I watch gameplays of NL I see a yellow heart beside the ID slot. Do you have to edit your settings or something to get the heart slot?

Because you don't get the code from the game you get it from you actual 3Ds system if somebody could post a picture or something for proof that would be better than explaining
