And why not? I don't get why religion gets de-facto exemption from scrutiny and mockery. You call conspiracy theorists nutjobs, but they have as much or more proof for their theories as every religion in existence.

You don't understand the purpose of a religion.

In the past the purpose of religions were used to give a civilization hope. Aren't we past that? We don't need to hang on to something we don't need. Sure, the morals in some of the stories are nice and shouldn't be lost. But the idea of a higher power is just... unbelieveable.
