Yeah, it is exceptionally slow. It took me 2 and a half days (yes, in hours) to get all of them through grinding. It's not impossible but I understand the frustration - all I can say is the running up/down beaches every 5 mins depending on your time of day is the only reasonable way to farm.

Yes, this. I just got the final recipe and I have spent HOURS going up and down the west/east beach (depending on where they were spawning) every 5 minutes. I had the best luck in the morning and evening, but that could be because I had the most time to do it then. Pop every single solid color balloon. I've gotten them from every color. I got 3 this morning in the 2 hours I spent on the beach.

If you stand at a beach (whichever beach is spawning your balloons at a given time, it can change on the hour so be aware), you will get them all faster than you think.

I have them all it's very grindy from my experience green and red balloons always drop the recipes others rarely

For me, green and red were more likely, but not always. I got them from all different colors.

Balloon always seem to spawn in 5 minute intervals for me. If I seem to have missed one, it's always there the next 5 minutes.

Example

1:07pm 1:12pm 1:17pm 1:22pm 1:27pm, etc

Flick was over yesterday, so I spent over an hour farming peacock butterflies, and stopped every 5 minutes for a balloon.

EDIT: This site needs to improve its profanity filter. It's giving a false negative above.

I parked myself at the east/west beach (depending on wind direction) and popped the single colour balloon every ten minutes. I got them all eventually, but yeah, having this going on at the same time as the bunny day balloons is nuts.

Can you elaborate on this? There is a specific beach that spawns balloons every day? I haven't noticed this yet.

Balloons spawn at a particular beach and go from that beach to the other. But, I have not figured out the exact pattern yet. It seems like they go one direction from 7PM to 5AM, and then another from 5AM to 7PM, but the exact pattern is unclear. Once you see a balloon, note its direction, and you can be pretty confident all balloons will spawn from that beach for at least the next hour. When the chimes ring, you may find the direction has shifted, but so far for me, its only been 6/7PM that show a change in direction. Curious about your findings, so keep me posted.

My red balloons always drop bells, the last 9 in a row. I can't seem to figure out the balloon spawn pattern on my island.. my wind is East to West but the balloons don't seem to spawn on the same side. Sometimes they are coming from the top, sometimes from the bottom.

The bunny balloons can spawn multiples per minute, and don't interfere with normal balloon spawns.

Make sure you are on the east/west shore. Don't go along the bottom beach. They only spawn on the west or east. You need to go up and down that beach, so you will see them whether they spawn at the top or bottom. I will stop, tilt the camera up, then go on. I go up and down.

I finished farming for these yesterday and I'd say in total it took about 9 hours to find every recipe. I got them in bursts. I would go for hours without a single one from the balloons and then I'd get around 3 or 4 in 6 balloons. I got 2 duplicates and I'm going to hunt a few extras when I have free time just for trading since I kind of like hunting for them. I probably made 200K bells just from balloons yesterday because the yellow ones gave me a lot.
