I’m done hunting balloons for Sakura DIY

For me Yellow drops bells every time, blue always gives me a crafting resource (iron, clay, etc) and I only get recipes from the blue balloons. This isn't 100% as I only record the past 30 balloons but so far this holds true.

Balloons spawn every 5 min when it's windy, every 10 min otherwise.

They spawn on one side of the island and float to the other at a time - they don’t go both directions as once. You can tell which side the normal balloons will come from by observing the more frequent easter ones. They can change directions on the hour (like the wind changes directions). There’s no solid pattern to wind direction - I’ve had it change at 8am. Just like I don’t think there’s a pattern to when it rains.

Red and green are most likely to drop, then yellow, then blue. At least in my exp and of other people I’ve read who have also collected all. It wasn’t so bad for me cuz I delayed bunny fortnight and collected most of em before the bunny stuff showed up.

If all you care about is getting the objects and you hate the grind for the diys, I can make you the items tonight if you bring the ingredients, no problem. Just let me know!

This may change on the hour, or even at will. As there are times I don't manage to see a balloon after 5 minutes, but will start seeing them again every 5 minutes. It's almost as if there is a 100% chance to see one after 10 minutes, but a 50% chance to see on every 5 minutes.

Yes I guess I should say, "when it's windy" because like the rain as I suggested, it can subside and has no pattern.

Okay... you guys inspired me to try a bit more!

I tried again this morning. I got like 4 DIY's! What the heck is going on...

The only thing I can think of is that there are flurries all over town, so as we get closer to the 10th, maybe the game is getting less stingy? I'm getting them from all colored balloons.

Another thing I did was empty my pockets of any eggs and I'm ignoring the bunny balloons completely. I don't know if that does anything. Also, at this point I have all the bunny DIY's so maybe the game's switched back over to Sakura DIY's.

I'll keep going!

And thanks to everyone who offered to help, I appreciate it. I want to try to get these on my own first, though.

I've gotten half of the recipes plus one duplicate over the course of 6-10 hours. I recommend that after you pop the first 2-3 reg balloons after going and don't get a sakura recipe, save and fully shut down the game them join back in and Don the same thing.

It's frustrating because I feel like I got all of the Bunny Day recipes in the first two days, but I still am missing most of the Cherry Blossom ones, and the Cherry Blossom event ends earlier than Bunny Day. That's really not fair.

I got them all in the first 3 days. I have an extra lantern recipe so if you end up needing that let me know

The Bunny Day balloons got nerfed, which was nice, but ironically, I've been getting less sakura DIYs since that adjustment. I've accepted that I'm not getting them all this year. But I'll get to look forward to unlocking them next spring!
