I'm Creating a Second Town!~

at the moment, it's taking so long to download (it's been like 40 minutes.. ._.) so i won't to start a thread to pass the time.

so, i decided to get a digital version of ACNL to go along with my psychical copy. it's going to be a cat filled town called MoodyCat.. :3

do you have any tips or experiences with starting a 2nd town and stuff?

Yep just got my second copy a few days ago it can get kind of boring starting from the beginning, but today I managed to get three of my dreamies - Julian, Deirdre and Cherry!! And I also have the map of my dreams, I transferred quite a bit of money from my main town to the new town. I cannot wait to get it started with paths and pwps and things!

I actually just got a second town to give away villagers, so I don't have any advice. Though, it is good to have an excellent group of folks willing to help transfer things if you don't have two DSes.

I was going to have a 2nd town but then I got poorer then I already was. Plus, having a 2nd town would have been too much anyways. Maybe when I collect everything and finish my town, I will make a themed town on a second copy. I'll even TT. Maybe.

I don't think we have many famous non-Japanese horror towns yet.

My tips: TT. If you want to get anywhere near where you were, you TT. End of story.

My tip. If its not going to be your main town then plan everything and transfer items from your main town to your theme town (maybe through other people if you don't have a 2nd DS). Otherwise I think it could get rather time consuming trying to get everything happening!

@blues i'm probably going to be giving villagers away as well. i want my village to be all cats, so that's a lot of villagers i need to throw out before MoodyCat is feline-full. :3

@fudge i was thinking about doing that, but that involves SO MUCH WORK. but i still might try it - i have a ton of ideas. hey, maybe once i have all cats i could make a cat-themed horror town. ;o

@midgetsc trust me, i've already time traveled more than once and i got the game just a few hours ago. i time travel on my main town, so there is no doubt i will time travel this time around.

@eirynfox i don't have a 2nd 3DS, but i still need a to transfer a few items. but i guess i'll deal with that later. ^_^

My advice is have the second town not share the same time as your current town.

See my main town is set to my real time zone but because I work late during the weekdays and get home the stores will be closed. (Have the Bell Blossom ordinance so not changing it to the Night Owl one.) So with my second game I placed the time so it will be daylight and the stores will be open so my main town's mayor can have a place to go sell and buy things.

Nope. Plenty of people started with digital and bought a cartridge, and vice-versa.

The digital version saves on the SD card and the cartridge saves directly to the cartridge. Thus, they don't conflict at all. Trading between the two can be annoying, though, because you'll either need a 2nd 3DS or a go-between, which can be pretty dangerous if you don't know the person.

If you're gonna do a horror town, you should look into the cheats that can remove villagers from your town. Otherwise, you've got an axe murderer, and a cuddly kitty named Lolly prancing around and watering the flowers.

I TT a lot too. XD I started with the digital copy (TOOK LIKE 2 HOURS TO DOWNLOAD >:U) and have a cartridge in the mail, and I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with it yet. I know that for a while, it's going to be for dreamies, as I've already contacted RedTropicalFish to tell her that I'll help her get whatever villagers are requested that she doesn't have :3

Oh, and as for the go-between, I'd be willing to help you transfer some stuff. ^-^
