Ever since I got my second copy for the game. I've been resetting over and over to get the perfect layout I want. Nothing seems to be good enough. If I get a good layout. I don't have the native Apple I want. Ugh I've been doing this for 2 days. I'm literally about to combust.

I know the struggle.... Maybe give up on the apple part? I now have cherries and I'm reaaaally happy.
Don't be too hard on yourself c:

The apples are not a big deal. I can bring you a basket and you can chop down your native trees and plant apples :)

When you get a good layout there's pears as a native fruit and tons of rocks in the most inconvenient spots. I've been there.

I know the struggle; I've been plot resetting for Marshal for 8 hours now, still no luck placing him in the markings I left. I'm sick of Rover.

Ah, the joys of plot resetting. I had to plot reset Ankha about 15 times before I could get her in the spot I wanted, and even then it was a space off. Congrats on getting Marshal though!

ah, i know the struggle.

but maybe forget the apple part for now? like Altarium said, you can get apples from her or somebody else and chop down all your naive fruit trees and replace them with apple trees. might not be exactly the same, but maybe it'll work?

native fruit doesnt matter as everyone else said just plant apples.
i usually look for:
decent layout
no rocks in potential path places or infront of stuff
1 dreamie maybe?
space for pwps, paths and villagers houses
spacious layout

I'm a boy though :P

I know exactly what your talking about. I recently got a new town and reset for a long time. I wanted any fruit other than cherries since cherries are native to my other town. Eventually, I found the perfect layout but cherries were the native fruit. I ended up keeping the layout even though it had cherries.

Maybe you should focus on the layout and let the apples be a secondary concern? You can always get apples from someone else.

Either way good luck with your town. :)

Like others said I wouldn't worry so much about the apples. Finding a good layout should be the priority.

I feel this. I had to reset FOREVER to get a good map but it was definitely worth it. Sometimes it helps to make a list of the qualities you want in your town map and what you're willing to compromise on. For example I didn't pay too much attention to starting villagers because they can always be changed later. I understand town fruit being important because of perfect apples and such. Good luck!

I think getting the right fruit is important if you want to have a perfect fruit orchard of the fruit of your choice. In my towns fruit has always been on the same level of importance as map layout because the fruit follows a theme. Maybe perfect fruit isn't as important to the design/colors.

Just keep going. Stay calm. Decide what you want - maybe even write it down. Then get into the groove and keep resetting.

When you see your map, you might know immediately! I know that's happened to me and it feels amazing. Took a weekend once and by Sunday night I was super happy - still have that town over a year later! Good luck!

I think you should just accept that you're not going to find an absolutely perfect layout. I guarantee every ACNL player has a thing or two about their town that they don't particularly like. Settle for a town that has most of the qualities you're looking for and make it work. You're unnecessarily stressing yourself out over something that is honestly a waste of time.

Like others said, you should make a list of what you absolutely must have and what you can compromise on. I think it's good to be picky, it's your town so you do you. Don't focus so much on having the best starter villagers. Villagers can come and go but the layout stays.

This guide helps determine where some of the rocks and ponds can be placed. It really helped me determine what I want for my second town and eventually found a great layout I can work with long-term. Do understand not everything will be perfect and that's okay! Part of the challenge with the game is to work with imperfections and make them beautiful.

Good luck! :)

I was very lucky to get a good layout so quickly! But in regards to cycling through my options of smug, snooty, and uchi villagers...cit took me 3-4 days to get Marshal. :( And 2 days for Whitney. For Whitney I cried anytime she plotted her house somewhere I didn't agree with lol~
