You ultimately have to decide for yourself what to do with the pros and cons.

I personally would just say reset because I find a lot of fun in working hard to build a town. Plus I see some benefit for you doing so because it could be a way to move on from this ex. You'd be leaving the town you worked on together behind and building one for yourself. It doesn't have to be an entirely negative experience. Maybe pull some good friends in to help you rebuild if you have any on AC.

You could also just take a break from AC to give yourself more time to think about what to do. Maybe in a few weeks you'll be ok with the fact that town reminds you of him. Just because he is your ex now shouldn't really take away from a town that you also put work into. The only downside to that would be how you are without AC while you are trying to get over him.

I think you will make the right choice just give yourself time to think. : )

I was playing too much of it anyways, haha... Maybe by then I will decide if the town is worth-keeping or best to restart. :')

No problem! Taking a break prevents you from being rash about the situation. You'll eventually either miss your current town too much or lose interest in it. If you lose internet just reset. I did that and I'm back after almost a year. XD

Just make sure you don't get to beat up over the ex issue though! AC should be fun not saddening!

If you're avoiding the game just because of this, I'd say to just reset it. I mean, of course a rupture hurts and you'll always think about all the effort you put on it (relationship and game, both of it). But as they say "life still goes on".

I've always been told that, when you break up with someone, the best thing you can do is rely on your friends and relatives. Maybe AC right now is exactly that. Maybe you just need to make some new "friends" and your new life starts here

I would reset the game. I'm sure you worked hard on your relationship with him, much harder than you worked on the actual game. If you both decided it was ultimately best to break up then that's something to come to terms with. If you let go of the relationship, maybe it's time to let go of that game save too - whenever you're ready of course!

Instead of resetting, why not redecorate? Cut down and replant trees, change the position of paths/flowers, redecorate interiors, even destroy and rebuild some pwps.

I can't be bothered with starting over a new town. I'll go ahead and destroy everything and rebuilt it.
Farming PWP requests was a huge pain in the ass.

I guess it depends on what you'd rather do. If it reminds you too much of him and it's making the game less fun, you can restart. If you have a lot of bells, villagers you like, perfect flowers, etc. you can get people you trust (or people with good wifi ratings here on the forum) to hold them for you. That way, you won't be starting completely from scratch and will still have some of the things you liked about your town.

If you think you can cope, just keep the town. You can change it around instead of resetting, like putting down different PWPs, switching around villagers, changing paths, demolishing his house, etc. and make it your town instead.

Finally, just think it through for a while. It's easier to reset a town you wish you'd reset earlier, than it is to get back your old town if you miss it.

I have too many bells to give up, & obtained all my dreamies. I will definitely regret it when I start over.
