Well, this is pretty darn depressing. Terrible quality picture with phone because I do not have any PWP's to destroy atm.

I was mindlessly (uh-oh) trying to plot Stitches in that gap underneath my character icon... when I hit A too many times on the home screen... and permanently secured him a spot where I was going to put some of my extra residents' homes.

I really wanted him to be right next to Marshal since they're apparently best buds in my other town. I also wanted to keep all the villagers in that lower half of the map and painstakingly plotted each villager to keep it that way. I've got over 60 hours in plot resetting on these villagers and I kinda don't want to start over (finding this perfect map alone took me almost 15) :/

You can tell which one Stitches is ^; ;
He's located agonizingly close to the cliff as well, meaning only flowers can be planted there.

So... what do you think I should do?
- Should I move Stitches out (heart pain... I have him in another town already but I love the Marshal and Stitches duo too much) and replace him with another villager?
- Suck it up and deal with it?
- Go through the painstaking process of cycling 16 villagers out while preventing 9 others from moving (I have a foolproof method of doing this so that doesn't bother me but... it'd take weeks. If not months).
- Start over with a new map and move everyone over again (I still have one cartridge left--could get another one I suppose-- I doubt I'll ever find a map as good as this again though)?

Any advice or opinion is appreciated ^^;

EDIT: I also tried to check and see if I could possibly build a bridge on the vertical next to my house; no-can-do. Only a diagonal bridge works :'<

Awh if anything I'd say just move stitches out or maybe just deal with it? You can work around it and make it look cool. I know the feeling though but if you love the map I wouldn't reset esp if it took you so long to get!

I think you should just suck it up and deal with it. It might seem horrible to you right now but later on you might be able to work around it. I've had to deal with it in my second town but I was able to work around it for now.

who else do you have in your town?
tbh, i would get rid of him and get a cuter lazy like Erik or something.

I was trying to accomplish having all my villagers on the bottom portion of my village and I somehow TT'd two days which forced Tangy on the top part of my island. She was the 9th-wanted villager of my town to move in and it took nearly 90 game-days before she pinged me to move out. I cannot even imagine how long it would take your last villager to move out (since in that time, my 10th-villager at the time, Mitzi, didn't ping me once regarding moving). Cycling 16 "last-to-move-in" villagers would be insanely tedious!

Anyways, once I got Tangy out - I decided to settle for a different villager and things worked out. Sadly, it took almost an entire day to place their house @_@.

If you can't find a new villager then you could restart your town. It'd be a pain and all but I think it would be faster if it means that much. My gf's town was accidentally restarted and she's rebuilding a town and is about 60-70% done and it's only been about a little under a week.

^ o ^ I already have Beau and Diana and want to keep my deer to a minimum ehuehue. Yeah, I was thinking I'd get an uchi (I was thinking Pashmina since I like Uchi's PWP'S) or another lazy if I did move Stitches :'c. I know many people aren't keen on his color and house exterior, but I adore how he looks like a patchwork bear. His catchphrase ~stuffin'~ doesn't help either since I'm a southerner and find it ridiculously adorable (I like his catchphrase more than sulky tbh)

i dont think it looks bad at all! but if your unhappy with it, their are tons of other cute villagers you could trade out.

Something similar to this happened in my town (it was Kiki). Now, Kiki is one of my favorite villagers so I made her house "stand out" more than the other villagers houses. It worked very well, at least for me. I'd keep Stitches. The decision is yours though when it comes down to it.

Something similar happened to me. I was also going for all villagers on the bottom half of the river, and all special buildings (Retail, Police, Roost) in the top half. Then I moved Rolf (a dreamie) in from the campsite and missed the plot reset day. He moved in directly next to the Roost :mad:

My advice would be to just accept it! That's what I decided to do and now I actually like his house placement since I worked around it. I also feel like it's a good challenge for me as a perfectionist to just accept things as they come once in a while.

No idea what your town is like but maybe you could add a bridge to make him feel closer to everyone else?

@Zandy, oh my goodness that feeling of seeing a house pop up in the wrong spot; I can definitely understand what you mean. If I were to restart, I guess I'd go MAP hopping on my cycle town to see if I could possibly restart Ix?ra. I agree that cycling 16 is way too tedious, so I guess I'll remove that option.

Just, oh I feel so bad about Stitches ; ;"" he's all by himself with no way for a bridge to link him to his friends... (watch me make a third town with nothing but other short villagers to compensate)

@WonderK that's an incredible idea! It would be a bit tough to make his house stand out since there's no room to the left of him, but perhaps I could figure something out.

@ams, ooh ; o ; ! Right next to the Roost... ouch. I'm feeling quite blessed that he didn't land in front of or next to the train station or Town Hall now D':

@erikaeliseh I tried building a vertical bridge right next to my house, but only a diagonal bridge at the river bend can be built. Not exactly a "link" to my villagers and I want my house to be semi-secluded. But I'd gladly give that up for Stitches to have easier access to the other villagers u v u"

I think just work around it, I also have my villagers in the bottom half and the cliff is right next to beau's house meaning I had to use 1 tile paths instead of 2 tile, so now my town has two sets of paths.. I don't think it will matter once you get used to it.

If it is impossible to work around it, swap him. The 16 cycle thing is hard and a long wait, trust me

When I was re-setting my second town for map layout, I wanted all the villagers in the bottom half of the map too. I have a map similar to yours, but my town came with one of my dreamies, Merengue, and her house was in the top right corner. I was not going to reset again so I just put my house adjacent to the right of hers instead.

I cycled all the terrible villagers out and put my dreamies in the bottom half as I meant to do. It doesn't bother me at all now. It makes Merengue even more special because she is the only original villager, and she lives next door to my house. It wasn't what I intended to do, but I didn't want to lose a dreamie if I could live with the map placement.

@hemming1996 yeah q v q... Cycling 16 is out of the question haha

@ShinySpritzee oooh, I could do that! Well, not my mayors house obviously but //maybe// a residents house. I may have an issue with the bridge being so close though :/

I wasn't sure whether to say or not, because technically is wasn't a plotting accident. But what I was trying to say was I loved my dreamie so much that I made it work. Because she's in a different place she feels more special. If you can't put another resident next to Stitches because of the bridge, I really hope you make it work somehow. I know that both resident layout and how special villagers are to people are both equally important. I couldn't suggest one over another because its a personal choice (:

@Shiny Spritzee I appreciate your opinion nonetheless <:
I planned on putting my cafe just north of where Stitches is (left of Town Hall) and having a residents house near Stitches would kind of destroy the map plan I had in mind...

The more I think about it, the more torn I get ; o ;

Omg I was trying to do the exactly same thing (plot reset all my villagers in the lower part of town) and with a very similar map. Then Stitches plotted his house exactly where yours did, right above the waterfall. :D So there he lives, all alone. It's hilarious that the same happened to us both. As for me, I decided to just deal with it. I'd suggest you do the same, or replace him with someone else. I don't think it's worth it to dedicate weeks or even months to cyckle through 16, especially since you already have him in your other town. I don't think you should consider resetting, either. You shouldn't let go of a map like that. :__: I'm so jealous of it, something like that was my goal when resetting for a map. I ended up so close with the same river layout and a central town tree but it's still not as good as yours.

Btw, I have Marshal in my town too and he and Stitches rarely interact with each other. Maybe you'd like to see whether they become best friends in this town or not before deciding what to do? I mean if that's a big reason as to why you want to keep Stitches.

In my first town, I had four villagers move in right behind my house, and one move in right on top of a path I'd built, which was leading up into the caf?...

I think that 90% perfect is good enough though, and the map still looks so nice~ I would definitely say don't try and reset for a better one, since you've put so much time into this one and chances are you won't find another map you're so completely happy with.

It just means Stitches wanted to live as close to your mayor's house as he could ;3;

Thank you so much everyone, you have no idea how appreciative I am of your opinions c': since I eventually plan on restarting Seoul (I was a complete nub and all of my villagers in that town are in the absolute worst locations)...

I'm pretty sure Stitches will have to be content with only being in one town c': (I'm going to have a tough time deciding on a replacement villager).

this happened to me long time ago too :( I was still kinda new to the ac community and didnt know there was a plot setting method and I got Zucker (he is my favorite childhood food haha) from a person on tbt and the very next day he landed in.front.of.my.bridge. like seriously blocking 80% of the bridge. so I understand your pain.
if I were you-
leave it alone: I think other people already mentioned it, but just try to decorate his area to make it a "stitches' area", I think making a small park for him can be so adorable <3 using pwps like log bench, picnic blanket, tire toy, balloon arch, flower bed, and jungle gym

16 cycle: it's painful (one time fuchsia left accidentally and it took me a whole year to push 16 people out, though I did it naturally instead of keep tt-ing forward), but if it's worth it, then do it because you gonna spend a loooong time in the game.

personally, I wouldn't reset the map because you might never see the same map ever again and resetting alone can already take too long. and even though making a stitches' area can be cute, cannot build a bridge around his house might prevent him from always interacting with the other villagers so I will move him somewhere else for the meantime and enjoy the game :) then when 16 cycle is done (it's painful but you do have a foolproof method :) ), bring back Stitches! that's what I am doing now with Zucker, but I have grown to Kit Cat a lot that it's getting hard to move Kit Cat out....haha so maybe things will change :) anyways good luck! <3

oops im too late haha but im glad you made a decision :D

Thank you xD. I love the idea of having a cute Stitches area and will definitely have to do that in my other town, but Stitches house placement is bothering me too much and he's kind of isolated so... it's better this way ; o ;
