IGN gives Skyward Sword a 10!

I'm not suprised of this, the game looks amazing. (and I haven't even played a Zelda game yet!)

I also noticed IGN said this is the best game on the Wii ever, while they said that for several others. I guess they can't make up their minds. -.-

Why are people everywhere talking about Skyrim when it's about Skyward Sword?

It's two completely different games...

Because Skyrim is likely to get Game of the Year and probably one of the best RPGs ever existed yet IGN rated it 9.5, then they give Skyward Sword a 10.

So Skyward Sword doesn't deserve a 10 because of that?

Blasphemous, they only gave Skyrim a 9.5.

sounds to me like a few things got really botched.

which reminds me of the past elder scrolls games.. which makes me ask why buy this one?

i haven't played both, same for yourself, so it's really impossible to compare outside of "skyrim is best because it's skyrim and skyrim is the best." or vice versa, with zelda in place of skyrim. skyward sword, whatever.

i haven't really been looking forward to it, but SS looks like it'd be worth a buy.

skyrim.. more of the same.. gonna give oblivion another go and see if i enjoy myself.

How can they compare Zelda to Lord of the Rings....
And come on...this may be good but it's not even in the same league as Skyrim and Halo Reach.

I have preordered two copies of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Gold Bundle.
Just because I'm a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Legend of Zelda fan! :D

I'm not saying that Skyrim is best, nor am I comparing the games as they're completely different but the "ratings" they've given the games just seem silly to me. If the 10 rating for Skyward Sword means the game is perfect, why is Skyrim up for Game of the Year and not Skyward Sword?

IGN have just always seemed backward to me.

Ign goes out of their way to say that games that get 10's aren't perfect.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Game Informer also gave it a 10 along with the Game of the Month. I've heard it's better than Ocarina of Time.

Because you've played Skyward Sword in order to have this information? Besides, it's an opinion. I doubt everyone agrees with you and I doubt everyone agrees with IGN's Skyward Sword rating.

this, and I'm assuming that they give SS the 10 because it's the best at what it's trying to do (as in it excecutes the Zelda formula almost perfectly while adding enough innovation to keep it fresh). With Skyrim, it may an incredibly open game, but it's completely different experience, and I'm guessing IGN believes it could have done better. So Skyrim might win game of the year because the type of game it is appeals more to audiences than the tried-and-true Zelda formula, and because it has so much content.

I dunno, I still think both are awesome. ^u^
