Ok I am asking this because we all know how quickly the first few weeks of a new town go, I have always set my start dates a little behind so that I don't end up ahead, better behind than ahead I think..But as we are right near the big holidays Halloween just passed, I didn't get to do that one in any of my towns this year and it's actually the only big holiday I have ever do e in AC but it was over a year ago in an old town and not on Halloween. I'm afraid it's too late to be ready for Turkey Day if set it to IRL date and I would like a town to do that and Toy Day in as I never have and then my bday is in Jan so we are near all the big US holidays, and I consider my bday a holiday, lol.

So would you go back to like two weeks before Haloween if you knew you'd be playing a lot to get all the holidays in and be caught up by new year or just start a few days ago and see how it goes. I know it's personal preference but if you were starting a town now..would you back set it a little due to holidays?

i never change from current time when restarting but if i were to do so now, i would probably skip to december 1st because ive played the turkey day holiday Wayy too many times and toy day maybe once for some reason, and i really like the way the dead of winter looks honestly

I try to stay on the same day but I usually have it set at a different hour. I tend to play at night so I have my clock set several hours earlier so my stores and such will still be open.

It really only takes me a couple of hours to do all of my in game tasks for the day, so when I have done everything I can for the day, all my errands, shopping, talked to all the villagers and done thier stuff, checked the island which doesn't come for a few days in new game I move ahead to next day.

And due to my life right now I don't have any school/work right now so have a lot of time and use the game to relax..am just wondering if I just played this new town only not my other ones for a couple weeks how fast I could catch up and still do the holidays I missed Halloween, and if I start right now I won't be prepared for Thanksgiving, which I have never done. I also stopped using a secondary character in my newest towns as it's just easier I have found, my old ones always had a secondary of the opposite gender so days took twice as long..I know I don't want to miss Xmas and actually play it that night or the day after at latest, and then my bday hits Jan 12..If I thought, as it takes a good two weeks to really set up and get organized that I could I would This town I'm doing the old fashioned way am letting whoever comes come as I have my dreams and playing until max friendship and all the animals so it's my back to basics town.

But I wonder if as I did all my Xmas shopping prior to Thankgsgiving for peace of mind..if I could start maybe mid Oct or start of Oct and get caught up by Xmas eve..If I started actual today by end of weekend it may be in game thanksgiving before thanksgiving but without having time to have collected the set at store or any mushrooms I need..If I started Nov1st or even 2 weeks back I'd be ok but have just missed Halloween..and I love those sets the creepy and scary are my favs..I do have spare in my other town with the secondary but it's not the same and that was Halloween of 2013 but not the actual night lol..I would love to play day by day but I guess I have more time on my hands to play than that to not get ahead of game which I wouldn't like much..So far no votes for go back at all...I e never started on start day because I know I will be ahead really quickly..2 weeks sounds about right but it's just so close to Oct to start near Nov1...(...thinking hard bubble) over my head, lol.

It's funny because I just reaet my second town yesterday!
I originally set it for the proper date, then ended up in December, so I set it all the way back to November 1st so I could time travel a lot to get my town rolling. I also did it to allow myself more time to work up friendships in time for the character's set birthday which is December 27th.

I always go back a few weeks. I like to play a couple of in-game days at a time until I reach the real date. This gives me a head start. ;)

I actually restarted my second town in mid-November, but I had set the date to October 30. My second character was created a few days later. As of right now, I'm one week behind in my game. I'll be caught up sometime this week!

I tend to start a new town on January 1, just because it's a "nice date", but that's the only reason, LOL.

If I wanted to play in real time I would start at today, but at the moment I already have two towns set in November so I would probably set it in early spring or maybe September instead... I'm not a giant fan of late autumn and winter in Animal Crossing.

On about October 8, I reset my second game. I set the date back to the day I bought it, which was September 21st. I'm in October, I think I'm on the 27th. I had a TTing accident, and went from the 24th to the 9th XD
I'd probably set it a few days back, I don't really know. I suppose it would depend on how I'm feeling.

If you want to participate in Halloween with your villagers I say go for it. :) Otherwise you will have to wait close to a full year till you'll have the event again and I'd rather go back in time then get anxious and want to TT too far into the future later on and risk things getting messy.

For me, none of my town's are on the right date. I have seasonal town's so they remain within their set seasons. XD

I like to keep my game date and time set to the currently reality times~ Just so it feels right to me and easier to manage ...xD I have time travelled a couple times but it seemed kind of a hassel since I'm still trying to upgrade one of my stores to it's max so it's under the bell boom ordinance right now. I also have a lot of plants so I have to switch it to the beautiful town other wise my plants would slowly die out or I'd have to water it everytime I saved and quit which sometimes I'm lazy and takes looong. But yeah, I think putting the date and time to however you would like is totally fine, it's how you want to play anyways and animal crossing has no rules or restriction set in that it must be to this date and time in order to play, yaaya for tting!

I set my town date to the original release day of AC:NL in north america when I start over. (June 9, 2013)
Then eventually TT to the current day, and take it a day at a time. :)
I've done this in my alternate towns XD
