My island is loosely based on the Japanese countryside that I see in a lot of anime that I've watched c: Very casual/laid-back kind of living, with quite a bit of clutter of household items in my villagers' yards. I did take inspiration from background art from Children of the Sea, Nichijou, Cat Soup and Millennium Actress, but there's only so much you can do with the given furniture in this game.

If I were to make a new island, I would base it off of Hare+Guu because what's better than making a jungle on a tropical island?

Probably Sailor Moon. I think other people may have used this theme before. But there is quite a bit of moon and star stuff, so it would work.

I also think it would be cool to do an Attack on Titan themed town. You could use terraforming to build "walls" around you island.

I think a Your Name inspired one would be amazing. Like if you have the plaza perfectly centered, you can split the island into two themes. One for Tokyo and the other for the lake town that I can't remember the name of.

kuroko no basket hands down cuz i love it and it's got the city ish vibe i love with style. perhaps yu yu hakusho for more run down areas or barakamon for a more rural feel. that or i'd do a sanrio danshi one if they ever bring back my sanrio villagers and items... us guys like that crap too ok...especially cinnamoroll...cuz he's a dog that looks like a rabbit so it's win win.

Would anime movies count? I love Satoshi Kon's work, so I'd go with Paprika or Perfect Blue. Paprika would be fun to decorate the island with random chaotic items as the movie is based on dreams and it doesn't really need to make sense as dreams don't make sense. (Would probably lag your dream address though)

My original town i was going for a madoka theme, i might still try it out later on with my new one but theres not really enough furniture at the moment to make it work very well ;;
