... Would you choose the opposite hemisphere so you would have a different experience? Or would you prefer to have a second island that's more natural to your own island/hemisphere? Do you feel like it would spoil the game your you?

I will be starting a second island on my Lite at some point. I have been considering whether or not it's worth playing in the opposite hemisphere. I think that while it would be exciting in the short-term that it would be annoying in the long-term.

I was thinking the same. Though it could also be an escape in the long term. For example, during winter, some people may get tired of snow in real life, so they may quickly tire of snow and the wintertime aesthetic in game. Having a place to go to where it's summer may be really appealing if it's snowing outside IRL.

I think my biggest thing about a second island'd be having the villagers I just don't have space for on this one ; v ;

Hopkins, Dotty, Ketchup, Moe, Kidd... .. I'd love to have them all if I could but, having only one switch, I cannot x'D
The weathers' never really bothered me so I'd probably stay in my own hemisphere for it but... yeah, I'd really love the extra villager space.

I've started a second island and it's Southern hemisphere. I like the change honestly. When I get tired of the cheery spring weather, i can always move over to a relaxing fall town c:

I'd definitely do Southern Hemi, but I'd also like to plan out a well-thought themed island.
Maybe something with a big storyline behind it~

I really want a second island to cycle villagers. I sort of do it on my main island, but it's such a hassle to clean up weeds each time I'm moving someone. I guess it wouldn't matter what hemisphere my second island would be in since I doubt it would be time synced.

I'd probably use it mainly for hybrid breeding. I've been doing it on my island since the beginning and it's pretty annoying that it takes up so much space.

i’d be tempted to have my 2nd island in the southern hemisphere but i feel like having my islands in two separate hemispheres might make it hard to keep track of things lol

I have a second island and my initial intentions were to make it a cycling island but things unfortunately happened to where I decided to not cycle but rather give the current islanders that I have to friends. Also, I have really good luck with finding dreamies or popular villagers without uploading my amiibos as of yet. So, long story short... If I hadn't been so fortunate to get really good villager on my second island, I would have definently reset my second island to a Southern Hemisphere!

If i had a 2nd island I'd definitely keep it in the same hemisphere because I don't want to take away from my current experience i guess. I'd try to get the rest of my wishies and make an ideal fully-terraformed island haha!

Mmm... probably not? The immersion would probably bother me more than it should.
I agree. If you want to play the opposite season from where you live, you can just set the clock on that Switch to 6 months forward or backward. Holidays and events may be an issue, but you can TT for them. I can see the appeal of having it be summer on your island while it's winter IRL, but it would make me dislike winter even more having AC be in the summer during that time. Playing winter during winter kind of gives me a better perspective of winter IRL because of the charm of winter in AC. Playing winter during summer would just feel bizarre.

I do have a second island; the first is on my Switch, and the second is on my yellow Switch Lite that I bought for my second island. I am playing both intensively since I am staying at home alone a lot these days due to the pandemic. I thought about trying the Southern Hemisphere, but decided I wanted both to be Northern Hemisphere. To me this seems easier and simpler.

And like others point out, you can always time travel to a different season if you want to. I do time travel but mostly just a few days instead of months. I wouldn't have an issue with time traveling to another season if I wanted to, though.

Both islands are in the northern hemisphere. I didn't want to get spoiled but now wish I went southern for the 2nd island. With no summer island all the time like ACNL there is no place to escape the snow.

I'm not able to change the system clock. If there was an in game clock I would changed the time after a year of playing. 2nd island would play early Spring to late September and repeat.
