I'm a semi-professional Meleeist (yes, that is a real term because I JUST USED IT) around my area, and I'm wondering what it's like on the other side. So what do you all think of pro Smash?
I wish I had the skill of a pro but not actually play professionally.
Believe me, most of the skills don't work against people who aren't as good as you. I've played at most of the local tournaments, and if no one's expecting a kick-posterior Fox combo then they won't guard for it. Which, odd as it sounds, usually leaves you open.
It's easier to get noticed for some games more than others. For instance, if you picked up Sm4sh on the first day and immediately started training and attending local tournaments then you'd be one of the first and thus your name would stick around the longest. In SSB64, just going to a tournament and fighting Isai (good luck on beating him, that never happens) would make your handle be sung from the heavens. It's not a very large scene, and really never was.I would play professional Smash if I could! That would be really awesome since I'd finally be good enough at something to go pro hehe![]()
