This isn't really a tool, but a backpack. For more storage, but the downside would be that it would slow you down just having it on.

A pickaxe to get rid of rocks. There are spots taken by rocks where I want bushes or projects to go. If you destroy one, another one pops up the next day to replace it in another part of town.
Also, a tool belt to hold all the tools.
For fun items? How about an air horn to scare villagers?

Yes. But somehow needs to be able to include a net, shovel, fishing rod, ect. :S
This would be awesome. Anything that increases pocket size in general would be pretty neat.
Then we'd need a rock store! I'd like to move some of my rocks around, not get rid of them haha.
Like some have said, grass seeder, a bigger backpack/belt, a bicycle. But I'd also like a flare gun (just for fun) not a tool but actual playable instruments we can hold and click a to play for example (preset song or maybe one of K.K's. Uhm Maybe some TNT to blow up some peoples houses you know.
Perhaps a new feature : Lawnmower, where our grass can get very long thus needing it to be cut, but you could also over cut it too short if you do it too much?

Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times for the DS pulled this off perfectly. You could get any instrument and play one instrument in a song you heard. You could take out, say, an acoustic guitar and play that part of a song and a villager that noticed you would come over and join in with another instrument. It was always lots of fun.
