.....which villagers do you think fell down/went up the list?

Although, I don't fully agree with the tier list-- I think it's still a bit appropriate for knowing the demand. I know I make jokes about the list and that Punchy should be #1 blah blah, I'm definitely just kidding. I've seen threads lately where people ask what happened to the tier list & it's been a while since people cared that much so it's never been updated. What if it is to be updated though?

Personally, I feel like no one looks for Lolly anymore, which is a shame.
She'd be tier 2 now. Together with Fang, Zucker & Chief.

I think the demand for Molly, Bob, Zell & Coco went up.

Just a few observations. What are your thoughts?

This. Few months prior it felt like only me and a few others would look for her. Now it seems like a tonne of people want her.

I've also noticed that Muffy's demand has went down a lot. I feel as if she was fairly popular before, but now less people are looking for her.

I feel like some of the more unpopular villagers are making a comeback. Though then again two of my dreamies people still find creepy just for the clown/mime feel. Pteiro and Chester are adorable, precious babies. ;;;

A lot of people want scoot and cherry all of a sudden.. probably cause 'o vinesauce.
I never hear anyone mention Cookie, Molly, or Ruby all that much anymore. Most of the hamsters are also not being talked about anymore, from what i've seen.



P.S MORE PEOPLE SHOULD WANT KIDD IN THEIR TOWN!! HE'S SO PRECIOUS!!

Pietro will always be that in between villager because of the clown phobia some people have.

The hamsters have always been underrated though. But I think Flurry popularity went down. She?s not even in Pocket Camp.

Saw many looking for shep! Definitely not tier 1 but I think the interest is high!

My baby sprinkle tho...I think she climbed down a tier or two, don’t see much of her.

Not sure about lolly, I think she’s still sorta popular.

Imo there is a high demand on deers too, esp. Zell, Bam and Erik. Haven’t seen that many ppl looking for fauna or beau though!

Or, heck, where even Filly and Holden would rank if it was possible to have them move in to your town.

I remember when people used to go nuts over Julian, Marshal, Merengue, Tia, etc were super overpriced. Some still are. Also when they used to be sold in sets (Colton/Julian, Francine/Chrissy).

Maybe it's the fact we got 50 new (old?) villagers plus the 6 Sanrio and 8 Nintendo characters that the tier list is all out of date. Not to mention people overused the popular villagers and now to be original you kinda have to avoid them?? I have most of the 1 tier's right now purely on original 10 move-in luck and I gotta say they're not all that they're hyped up to be.

I WANT Lolly. But I rarely see threads about her lately. For someone who used to be top 10 idk what happened

Good point, even though I mentioned cards, I forgot 1 - 4 of the series. Yeah, when the cards first came out they were abundant and easy to get and people completed their sets months after them coming out so they could just go "I want this villager" and magic happened. Then there's the shops too that have cards that sell them for mega cheap. I mean in the long run it does make finding them so much easier, but it turned villager economy into a joke.

Like, one part of me is glad that I got my boyo Julian without having to fork over half my TBT for him (even though I'm not sure if the person selling him used a card), but at the same point, where's the fun in that? Sure, it's easier and cheaper to get, but I also think it was quite fun villager hunting and the sheer excitement you felt when you FINALLY got the villager that you've been wanting for ages instead of someone just scanning a card and saying "here ya go"

Uhhh to get back on the actual topic of this thread, I think Pekoe's demand is going down a lot too. Not a lot of people are looking for her anymore, and I know she used to be REALLY popular. Heck, when I was looking I got mine for free because someone was actually cycling her out. I expected to have to pay a lot for her, but I was wrong.

For me personally, "tiers" are just interesting. I know they were created help people pick a price but for me it's interesting to see how villagers rise in popularity or lose it. It's kinda fascinating to observe the changes. Like I said before, amiibo cards kinda made it unnecissary price-wise but I just like to observe it for the fun!

I mean honestly it would just take a few days, maybe a week, to make a new and improved tier list based on the information from cycling towns and the villager trading board. However, people are still going to do whatever they like and most people just price all villagers the same now. It's simpler in a way. We also have to remember that there's 50 new villagers to add to the mix and these villagers are pretty much like all-stars, they're popular old villagers that have made a come back. I know a lot of the RV villagers (Ketchup, Vivian off the top of my head) are now more popular say Julian. I'm not exactly 100% sure about all of this, but I do know that the RV cards make a difference.

That being said, people also just base off appearance more than personality. Personality is pretty much the same no matter who you have, but appearance is wide spread. As well as just animal species. Gorilla's and Aligators are two I very rarely see, along with the Monkey species. Wolves, Squirrels, and Deer seem to be the ones to go after. Sheep and Cubs are slowly making more appearance while Anteaters are now joining Gorilla's in the lowest tier.

Yeah, but the problem lies in how many people are ACTIVE with said Amiibo cards. Quite a few of the threads in the Villager Plaza are semi-dead as it is.
