Exactly what the title says. So for those who didn't have a wii u or 3ds around 2012-2017, miiverse was this forum-like place where you could talk to other people about games you like. You could post funny pictures, and you could ask for help using the Spoiler tag. There were also communities that you could talk about the games you play. There seems to be a community for pretty much every game, and my favorite was the 3d world community. Sadly it was discontinued around November 2017 I believe. But I wondered, if miiverse were to come back, would you want it to change? Now I say that because despite it being a nice place to chat, I felt like the rules were a bit strict. Like once I got banned when I was 8 because I was trying to add my friend code on a post because we were trying to play mario kart 7 together but they kept deleting our posts, making it impossible. They had this stupid rule that if you're under 13, which I was at that time, you can't have people send friend requests to you, and since everyone there were my friends irl, we had to try to post our friend codes. I understand that the rule was probably put there to prevent kids from getting requests by people you don't know, but it basically made trading impossible. So I would make the rules more lax, like allowing people to share friend codes, as long as the only people that will see are the people you are trying to add. This way, it would make trading much easier for those under 13. Other than that, if Nintendo decided to make miiverse again, just with that small adjustment, I would love it.
I loved Miiverse. I was on there and would post a lot of song parodies about Mario Kart, and other things related to the game. I really did enjoy it for what it was, and I was sad when Miiverse suddenly closed. I used it mainly to interact with my friend group on Mario Kart. I am no longer in contact with them anymore, but I do have one of them on my social media.
I thought Miiverse was toxic in some ways? I know a few of my songs got deleted for being too mean, for a lack of a better term — and they weren’t directed towards actual people, they were songs about the characters. A few of them were about Shy Guy. I don’t hate him as a character. It was a friendly rivalry, haha.
There were lots of young people on Miiverse who were clearly only on there to troll. If the platform had a little more maturity, I feel like it could have worked. Miiverse was a good idea, but maybe with different execution it could be better? A few minor changes couldn’t hurt, if Miiverse were to return.
i want miiverse to stay exactly the same only you can't get banned for saying the word "gay" this time were it ever to come back. i miss that hellsite.
Miiverse was fun, loved how you could interact witzh all kinds of people or draw and post pictures. People were able to express themselves! I can see why it was taken down though ._. If it came back I Iimagine it would need moderators and/or some sort of rules against posting hateful speech/explicit images/mobbing and all the downsides of the anonymous speech of an Internet forum.
