So I know that there are people in the Animal Crossing community that hack their villages to get the lookin the way they want. I personally haven't done it before and don't have any intention to start, but I've had this question on my mind and I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer.

Obviously everyone knows about the town tree. Since the release of Welcome Amiibo, if your tree is at stage 4 or above, when you go to recreate your village, Tom Nook will buy your village off of you. Assuming that you can hack the growth of the town tree, if you hacked it to be at least stage 4, would you still be able to sell your village? Or would the game see it as invalid?

I'm no hacker, I'm gonna say that upfront. BUT, while hackers can change their tree, replicate, completly remove, ect... There's still one thing out of their control: actual play time. Sure they can have a stage like 17 tree, but I think the game will take into account how long they've actually played. If they haven't played enough time to actual factual earn a stage four tree, I don't think Nook will let them sell the town.
