Identical Paintings

I bought a painting at Redds, it was real and went to the museum. Recently I found the same painting at Nooks. I bought it and took that to the museum and Blathers didnt say it was a forgery, instead he was confused about how there could be two identical paintings. Has this happened to anyone else?
