I'm looking for ideas to make this bakery stand out a little more. Looking at it, it just seems kind of bland as is. Thoughts?

Sorry if it's weird I keep posting in your threads.

I think making this bakery into half cafe would help a lot with the space. You might want to think about what type of bakery this is, because you have a lot of different types of cakes mixed in. Usually bakeries stick with a theme, or region?

Like for instance, if I walked into a bakery close by, I know it wouldn't sell mochi or rice cakes. A color theme can help set a direction. I know of course if you look online for reference for acnl, it's all very pink and frilly. Some color ideas can be browns/oranges, blues, greens and whites.

But if you keep those dark counter tops, you need to find a floor the same color as that dark brown, and then keep anything above ground lighter and brighter.

I like the seats in this picture. Maybe these could work? Also, the screens are pretty cool, and could match your dark wood if you choose to keep that.

I know this is HHD, but just focus on the colors. This person is using green and saturated reds as an accent color. She also has the hanging sign, hot snack case, a couple of bread cases.

It helps too look at real life references. It can help with placement or just understanding theme/color.

Hope this helps.

You could try playing around with some tables and chairs for customers!
Also, plants really make a difference/ wall decorations in general.
I think the flooring looks pretty cool, but maybe even trying a black and white checker pattern?

Really think about the vibe and colors you want to have. The colors you have right now are mainly black and white, and give more of an industry feel than a bakery feel. It's colors you'd see in an office and when it comes to food they can look more dreary than appealing.

Psychologically, red is the most attention-grabbing color, so it's great for pops of color.

Greens and blues are very soothing, so you could try using the green series or blue series in combination with other items.

Browns and oranges feel very cozy, and since many bakery-related items are brown in ACNL, I recommend having some brown furniture pieces in mind if you want that cozy feel.

It's also a good to think about customer seating areas. Most bakeries I've been to have them, even if small areas. The more comfortable it looks, the better!

I would definitely add a small dining area, just a table and a few chairs or something. You could maybe add more counters with bar stools along the walls, but you'd need a little more space for that, which could potentially be done by condensing your counter a little? I like the looks of it so far though! I think the biggest thing would be to make it a little more homey or realistic looking by using items like a trash can, plants, tables, etc. Good luck! :)

add pastels and make it kawaii, it's what all the popular tumblr bloggers do

Nah, you don't have to conform. Maybe add a colorful wallpaper, more space between the displays, give it a more open feel, ya know?
