Hi everyone!

So I'm completely revamping my house now that I completed the HHA challenge, and I decided I wanted to make it an actual house! :D

So my main floor room is a living room, right room is the bathroom, left room is the kitchen, back room is the backyard, and top floor is my bedroom. But I have no idea what to do with my basement! I thought about doing a "woman-cave" type of deal with all my favorite furnitures, but I feel like it'll just end up looking sloppy and lazy, which I don't want.

Any ideas for what I could do with it?

My basement is my superhero lair. Well, it's in the process of being made. Still need to expand fully and get hold of some furniture.

make it a secret zen garden
a workout room
a mushroom room
a secret mermaid lake

Mine uses the mush series and a few other items to make it look like a secret fairy den or a little campground, idk, I like it :D Basements do tend to look cool with the more illusionistic walls/floors (undersea stuff, clouds, saharah's desert, etc). One of the more interesting I've seen was a cloud floor/wall with a throne and regal series items (kinda heavenly looking).

My back room is a den (cabin and alpine series) with a craft room (loom, sewing machine, etc). Maybe you'd be interested in something similar?

Edit;
I've also seen a really nice tea room in a basement. Dimly lit, bonsai, screens, etc. Mine was a tearoom/spa during my HHA challenge.

Basements are the only rooms with no windows so you can really make it moody looking with the right lights...aura screen, colored lamps ect.

I put Nintendo stuff in the basement. Almost makes it look like a nerd cave.

I made my basement into a treasure room :D I have all my trophies, the throne, a chocolate coin... the suitcase full of money :D And some of the gold series.

My basement is a "gentleman's-posh-cigar-smoking-library". I will try to get a picture of it.

Mine's... a basement. XD I have the stone wall and plank floor, and then threw my crap in it. It started when I was doing the HHA challenge, and the basement was the only room I could store stuff in..

The basement seems ideal as a hobby room for each character.

I have four humans. I have things mixed up.

My Applewin mayor, Jill, does not have a basement yet. So I'm using the hobby room for upstairs. It's at the max room size. It's used for collections, including fossils which were refurbished. I have Jill using her living room as a living room; her back room is the kitchen (which is the next-to-max in room size); her right room is the bathroom; and her left room is her bedroom. This is bound to change.

I think the focus of decorating and re-decorating for any player is to accumulate and assess, and to add and eliminate. Eventually one gets organized.

It is very time-consuming.

Mine is a game room! I've got the pool/foosball tables, arcade game, capsule toy machine, claw machine, and a couple other things to make it fun :)

Mine has DLC and cool furniture in it. Kind of like what your idea is.

I saw a thing on tumblr with a picture of a Streetpass house, and the basement was full of skeletons and had three 6's in the middle. Add K.K. Dirge and you could start on your very on horror house.

I saw a basement that was fun...it was a wheat field with a flying saucer and it looked like it was making a crop circle!

I saw one that was a wheat field with a scare crow.

I liked those both so much that I made my basement a wheat field, then put in a spinning wheel, a small wooden stool and a chest with a candle on it ( like in Rumplestiltskin where the girl is supposed to spin the straw into gold.)

For Halloween I made my basement into a mad scientist's lab.

Right now it's just a basement with an old looking floor, some moody lamps on the wall, a washing machine and a fancy chair facing the washing machine, so someone could sit in the chair and watch the clothes being washed. I am trying to figure out what to do with my basement next, so that is temporary.

It was fun reading all of the ideas here. :)

I?m not sure what my main room is gonna be yet, my loft is a Japanese themed bed room, my back room is a caf?/kitchen, made from the sweets set, my right room?s gonna be my holiday room, based on the current holiday ofc. My left room is a WC, the basement is an arcade, but I think I?m gonna remodel it into a casino with the new set gracie?s selling.

I have a little lair with the full creepy set and a few of the mush set.
makes it really spooky with the only light from a mush lamp and the creepy wall making it look like you're outside when you just went underground.

My mayor's basement was converted into a miniature museum. Collected a diplo skeleton, a gallant and beautiful statue, numerous paintings, some smaller fossils, some rare critters like a golden stag beetle, a tarantula, and of course, a coelacanth, and topped it off with a reception table, trash bin, and a golden clock and Metroid as miscellaneous displays.

One of my other inhabitants, based on a young genius character who tries desperately to suppress her innate childish traits, has a secret Sweets room of shame down there. The full Sweets series plus numerous candy and dessert themed items, like a pumpkin pie, brown and white chocolate fountains, soft-serve lamp, dessert case, and so forth, plus some candy and lollipops strewn about. No one will know her secret, of course... the doorway is blocked by a museum partition screen bearing a pattern of her disgruntled face, as if denying you entry herself.
