Good morning to everyone!

Background: I am returning/relearning this game after taking a break that lasted multiple years. Before when I would play, I'd time travel to unlock everything quicker, I'd try to trade for my "dream" villagers/favorite items as soon as possible, etc etc. While I did have plenty of fun playing the game that way, and I encourage everyone to play this game in the way they get the most enjoyment from it, I personally found myself growing a bit tired of the game after a few months playing it like that. Everything was accomplished so quickly I was finding less things to feel excited about each time I started up the game. This time I am playing the game at a very natural pace. It's a world I visit for a few hours each day to relax and enjoy at an easy pace among nature.

Actual topic of discussion: It got me thinking of ideas for making the game last longer. What are some ideas you might have? Mine are:

1. Not time traveling. Allowing the game to progress at a natural pace

2. Not using the island to fill up your encyclopedia so quickly. Catch bugs/fish only in your town as the seasons pass in their own time

I feel like a good way to make it last longer is only being able to sell fruit you grow, and not use the island to farm fruit.

It lasts too long for me.
I TT because everything is about waiting, and not everyone has the time to wait 24 hours to see if that stubborn bush start will grow.

I don't know how much slower you want the game, as to me, any slower and it would stop. ^_^

Well I do not time travel anyway and I accept it if I do not achieve something big on one day.
For example a few days ago I missed Joan by some minutes and almost wanted to time travel.
But I scrapped the idea and just continued. Will check her out next time.^^

I completely understand this way of thinking, since I used to play in the same manner. I would think "why wait when I could just make a quick adjustment on my ds and continue progressing?".

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy relaxing by fishing on the island, but waiting an entire day for a hybrid or a bush/tree to sprout, it's too long.

I can't even update my DA because the snow ruined my natural dirt paths, and I'm still wearing them back in.
If I didn't hurry that along with TT, it would be months before it was presentable. :(

I don't tt in my main town and it's sister town, when I started my new cycling town, (tting, lol) I earned all my money with fishing and fruit, not traveling for fruit and waiting it to be given to me somehow.
The game is much more relaxing when you decide to put aside impatient perfection and ocd.

You could try to get all of the badges compleate your catalog get the highest HHA score for your house. Make your dreamies move in...heck if you want a real challenge do this w
With 3 alternate character3 plus your mayor

Do all your dailies (money tree, money rock, send letters, etc.), never time travel, grow all your hybrids from scratch, focus on badges, and always walk. No running! I find that letting myself run in the game gives the entire thing more of a busy vibe. Also, I wreck my flowers consistently.
