It doesn't make much sense to me, but to each their own!
I already dislike the octopi for that reason. Frogs are amphibians so they're OK, but walking octopi... really?

Actually, octopi are known to walk on land for up to 15 minutes at a time to escape predators so...it's still kind of far-fetched, but I suppose if you just imagine that they take a dip in the ocean now and then, it's not so bad.

Anyway, about Luna, I never noticed it until I got a really good look at her, but her design was heavily ganguro inspired. You can tell because of the eye make-up, her bleach blond hair, and accessories. There are actually lots of villagers in the game with similar ganguro-esque designs.

I don't think tapirs are common enough to be an actual villager species. I'm sure many kids don't know what they are, and if they were to have a town full of cats and dogs and other common animals, it would be strange to have a creature they knew nothing about show up.

I'd say I want a leopard species, but there are already Bianca and Leonardo under the tiger category who like like them. Maybe fox villagers would be neat. Redd is really cute.
