It wasn’t someone on this site. I used a the dodo airlines code Exchange app. All the other people were nice and sweet but then this guy comes and ruins my day.
This doesn’t surprise me sadly. Every day we have a thread about some guy from reddit/nookazon/discord/[insert external site here] trying to scam or harass someone. It’s despicable.
Now this may be a controversial statement but hey, I think it warrants being said. There are a lot more men out there on those sites and in fact some are mostly male. While I think almost everyone on this site is lovely including our male members, it cannot be denied that outside of here and in male-dominated fanbases in general, there’s a lot more of a ruthless, aggressive, and cruel atmosphere and behavior. Have you heard voice chat on competitive shooters? There’s a reason that the guy friends (who are sweet and awesome) I have turn it off immediately!
In fact, my very first experience playing online multiplayer, literally minutes from starting it up, and I had to listen to some dude’s diatribe about how there’s no point to spending time with girls unless it’s going to lead to something more. And that was Bioshock 2, for goodness sakes, supposedly the thinking man’s shooter!
The point of this is to say that this is about him, not you. He’s used to toxic male-dominated fanbases and behaving like this. He would say that no matter how your town looked. In fact, I wager he said it to each person he visited that day! He’s just trolling you, but failing at being amusing.
I actually feel really sad for such a person and you should too. I pity them that they can’t have positive interactions and feel what it’s like to have a real community vibe of people who share your interests. That’s a shame for him.
