My mayor is a girl because I am, but I named her after a guy from Kingdom Hearts. I like to make my players look like characters I like. She looked like Wes from Pok?mon Colosseum for Halloween and since the update she now looks like Princess Zelda. These are also all cosplay I have for anime conventions because I like long capes and dresses. The gender doesn't matter to me much. I just like to wear what I think looks cool.

No problem at all, I actually don't know why they have the dialogue about it being a gift. As for the hair, there's lots of guys with "girly" hair in this world and it suits them and they can pull it off.

That is part of ACNL's charm. You can transform yourself into any thing you wish. For example, I am a female who prefers to wear pants/shorts rather than dresses.

I'm not trying to be judgmental, but if you're going to cross-dress in the game, then why not just choose the other gender since you can choose it by pressing a button in the game as opposed to real life where it's obviously much more complicated.

Some people don't want to reset their towns and some people think their mayors look good in a boy/girl cut.
I woukd've thought that would be a bit obvious.

I don't think it's wrong at all! Do whatever you feel is right I actually think it's cute when people crossdress, lol <3
