What is your opinion on that if youre a male or female villager is it wrong to have opposite gender hairstyles/opposite clothing? Please do not be judgemental in the comments or with your replies

Of course not! There's this male hairstyle that I wish they'd let me get my mayor's hair cut like but she's a girl so... I just got the girl equivalent of it. /sigh

You can get it! Just go to Shampoodles enough times then Harriet will say 'you know, I think you'd look good with a boys haircut!'

I have an opposite gender hairstyle on my mayor right now, and I love it and don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

of course I'm totally happy with that why would be wrong? more choices more fun! I wish more games had this approach

I usually have a male haircut on my female mayor because I have short hair irl. It doesn't mean anything.

Im really glad this is getting attention :3 Im asking because a while ago on the multiplayer island people were making fun of me for my clothing choices...

I'm not trying to be judgmental, but if you're going to cross-dress in the game, then why not just choose the other gender since you can choose it by pressing a button in the game as opposed to real life where it's obviously much more complicated.

Where whatever you want. If you think you look cute in something, be it a dress or a tuxedo, you should be able to wear it and be happy about it. It shouldn't matter if it's real life or a video game imo. What you wear really isn't going to hurt anyone in any way. Even if they don't like it.

Not saying that a boy wearing girl clothes makes him a drag queen, but I literally just wanted to say that this thread reminds me of how much I adore drag queens <3 So cute and sassy~

because its actually bizarre that clothes are gendered? Like why are two leg holes ok for both genders, but one leg hole just for women?

males have specific eye styles, for one thing. also maybe the people "cross dressing" preferred to be called he/him in game.
it's dumb that clothes are gendered anyway.

anyway, no, I don't think it's wrong at all. anyone's got any right to express themselves however they want!

Just because you want to cross dress doesn't mean you want to be the opposite gender, which applies to both real life and in game. My mayor is female but has a guys haircut and never wears any clothes which are very feminine. I wouldn't want to play as a guy though, I like my mayor to be a little imitation of myself.

So no there's nothing wrong in it :) I've seen guys in the island who have the girls ponytail, one guy last week turned up with the Zelda wig and dress. No problem in it at all :)
