I think there is something wrong with my game

Although there have been many threads on getting requests for projects I think there might be something wrong with my game however. I do requests from my towns people every day, plant flowers and trees, mail them with gifts each day and as much as I can do. When I see them go : !!! : I think that they are going to request something but in the end it is always like : So, I heard you wanted an apple? It just bugs me since I am getting bored I don't know what to do and would actually like to build stuff. Anyone have any extra tips? Because I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here.

No you're wrong there's nothing wrong with your game. Requests are random.

The requests are random; luck just hasn't been in your favor lately. Keep waiting; you'll get requests soon enough.

Ah, it is rather a pity. I've had the game since release and not a single request. ;-;

Not a single one? That IS strange. Keep on trying- that's pretty much all you can do.

I followed someone's advice (sorry don't remember the specific posters name) and it has worked for me 5 days in a row now.

Store all your money,equipment, and items. That way you won't trigger buy/sell/trade events. Wear a wetsuit. If you don't have one that's ok, you can still do it. Run past all your villagers outside once to see if you trigger the "!!!" event. If not, go to your beach and swim around for 5 minutes. Or just walk around. Then go and try to run around your villagers again. There's a high chance at least 1 of them will give you a suggestion. If not, rinse and repeat until you get it. Sometimes you get one right away sometimes it takes an hour of trying. I've even gotten suggestions twice while just watering flowers and holding nothing else. The villagers came up to me!
