Hey guys!

I've been looking into developing my island a bit more! There's a fourth of my island I dedicated to a public garden/my home, as shown here. And you can see a map of the rest of my island here. I'm trying to think of ways to make it nice or what kind of themes for certain areas! Feel free to input or just share your own favorite parts of your island, maybe it'll spark some inspiration in me! ^^

I like how my one good friend has a star gazing type area... I might make something similar ~

A stargazing area is always really awesome. Can make one on an upper level, and they work out quite well. A few other ideas I could suggest would be to possibly make a neighborhood or 2 for your villagers. Having them relatively close together in a way will open up your island even more and give more room to get creative.

Other ideas to mess around with your open spaces:

- A market area
- A carnival / games area
- Maybe a grand entrance to your museum.
- Orchard for fruit trees
- Possibly a forest area with mush related items. Always cute
- Zen garden
- Outdoor restaurant
- One that I've wanted to make soon and likely will - An outdoor library

Also if you were to make neighborhoods for your villagers, you could in turn decorate their yards with aesthetics to match them or their personality. Definitely can be quite awesome with some work. Hope some of these ideas help. :)

awesome!! yeah, thank you! ^^ I definitely should work on the part of organizing their houses to give some more space first... then kinda see what I have to work with ~
A market area sounds super cute!! Maybe an outdoor library but that made me think more of a cool picnic area not with bookshelves but just stacks in places, maybe some other things ^^

I have a diner, arcade, school, playground, outdoor library (still a bit in progress), outdoor music area, quiet clifftop cafe and game area, zen garen....yea! I love them all.

wow! holy cow you have a lot!
now that I'm looking at my map, there's already a perfect area potentially for a stargazing area~ just gotta shape it up... then I can see where I can put a camping type area as well ^^

hrmm.. i found that if you're struggling to fill your island up you can just take a lot of space for one thing - i used a big large upper area just for the museum. i gave all my villagers decent sized yards. i need to make the campsite bigger tho

ah yeah, that would be a good idea! ^^ maybe yards with fences ~

My island is themed and not 100% complete.

Some things I've made were:

-cafe with uncomfortable chairs
-fruit tree orchard w/ a makeshift graves in the middle (don't break my laws)
-loading area/dock for my exports and imports
-jungle temple run area (only 3 seconds long, lol)
-welcome area for visitors (picture Hawaii with flower leis but you get booze infused popsicles
-a very stinky fish market

And just barrels everywhere. My mom asked what's in them and I said small children. She didn't like that answer.

I just tell my parents not to worry about the weirder parts of my island (like the hyper focus on deer and cannons)

speaking of which, most of my island is plugged up with forests...

How about an area for displaying dinosaur bones.
A farmers market area
labyrinth
campsite

can i just say that i absolutely ADORE your map layout!! everything is both spaced out and organized at the same time, it's lovely <3

some areas of my island include: a huge graveyard, outdoor library + coffee shop, beach market, campsite, fishing area, neon bar + pool area, garden and lots of little "resting" areas in between. an idea that i've seen a lot is a beefarm, those are always so cute and very clever with the use of decoration :0c not sure if you're looking to develop your public garden area more too, but i feel like some bushes and bamboo diys would really add a lot!
