I play every day and I find roaches in my house!!??!!???

So, I've been playing NL EVERY DAY since November and never once time travelled.

A few days ago I switched from Beautiful town ordinance to Night owl ordinance and when I went to my side character, Janine the next day, I found ugly, nasty gross cockroaches in her house!! EEEEWWWWWWW!!!

I play with Janine fairly often, too.

On a related note, another side character, Charlie, who I haven't played on very much except to store stuff never had roaches in her house.

Any idea why I would get roaches, even though I play every day and NEVER time travel?

All I can think of is even though you've been playing, you haven't actually entered the house for a period of time? Supposedly it takes just a week for them to appear.

Same thing happened to me when I didn't have the beautiful ordinance (I wanted flowers to wilt) so after getting few gold roses I switched back to the beautiful ordinance...

Keep stepping on them.. and maybe try moving the furniture around in the house.

I spent some time on Janine the day before and Janine's house is one of my favorites so I sometimes spend a long time in there. >.> I wonder if roaches happen more often in NL than in other AC games?

Yeah I want to get gold roses too, and plus I want to have more time to actually play when I'm home (like making patterns or beetle hunting) without the stores being CLOSED.

Yes! I just recently replaced the ice furniture in her house with the gorgeous series, and also her mermaid furniture upstairs with Sleek furniture.

I've also expanded her house some.

Yea when I didn't have the beautiful town ordinance there were cockroaches EVERYWHERE, it was even in all my character's homes. I guess it's because of the ordinance? Probably but uhh I think that's why, that's interesting though!

As far as I know cockroaches only appear after you haven't played for a week, though not entering your house for a week may have the same effect. There hasn't been much research done on this topic.

Roaches tend to show up if you don't frequently move around your pieces of furniture - for example, dragging a table, putting out a bed, or putting away a stereo.

Even playing a character frequently and spending time in their home, you'll get roaches if you don't move things around on a near-daily basis.
