I now have a new Most Hated Villager.

You need to have someone else move first I believe. The last villager who recently moved in won't move until someone else does.

This has been mostly true in my experience too, but from what I hear it's possible to get the most recent move-in to leave if you simply never speak to them at all.

Though if that fails I've got a couple others I want to move out too, so there's that.

Definitely making any buyers clear their voids first though.

Ahh something similar happened to me. Someone visited me and Tipper moved right in the middle of my path. I wasn't planning on moving anyone in but it was very annoying. I prefer Patty over Tipper anyway.

She is the last to move in so you will have to wait until another moves out before she will even get put in the moving pool. Then it is still random. I have had ones that are considered best or very good friends want to move while others who I never talked to for months never asking to move out. There is nothing you can do to get her to move. Will have to wait out the moving cycle.

Yeah, Nintendo threw in way too many ways to "avoid" losing villagers to the void. Fun fact: the only way to prevent it is to actually have 10 villagers. Even 9 isn't safe; back with my first village, I picked up Annalise from my younger brother's void with STREETPASS while I had 9 villagers.

Apparently you can clear your void by traveling to a village with 10 villagers already in it. Which is going to be a requirement the next time I give away a villager.

I guess you don't technically have ten villagers if one of them is in boxes? On April 27th I had 10 villagers including Bunnie who was in boxes that day. On April 28th Bunnie was completely gone and Roscoe's plot showed up that same day. I didn't expect that I would pick up a villager from someone's void on April 28th since I technically had 10 villagers then. It was completely unexpected for me.

I'm careful when I have nine villagers or less. I don't open my gate nor do I visit any towns. I also avoid using streetpass during those periods.

This is the worst.. I got a hippo from a stranger recently and my friend who never wifis with anyone else always gives me his ugly villagers LOL I can't take it especially when they ruin my town!

Also, when I first got the game, I streetpassed with my next store neighbour and picked up Paula from his void. Not knowing about much about how streetpass worked within this game I didn't know what had happened. Fortunately, my neighbour eventaully shut off his streetpass and I stopped picking up any of his voided villagers.

Ugh, I know how it feels. I did that with Erik once. And he cost 200 TBT! And Tipper too! I had here in Wild world and she annoyed the hell outta me.

What exactly do you mean by "clearing your void?"

When you move out a villager but don't get someone to come take them, that character is considered "voided", and the data from the last voided character is not only stored in your data, but if you visit the town of another character with 9 villagers or less (or in my case, 10 villagers with one moving out), the voided villager will put down a plot in the new town. It was just about the worst decision in designing this game.

By visiting a town with 10 characters (and none moving, apparently), you can clear the villager that's currently in your void, preventing them from putting down an unwanted plot in another player's town.

Ugh! I know that feeling! Someone came over to my town last year to adopt a villager and drop off this thing!

Worst of all, he was wearing a default pattern outfit!

I was so angry that day!, I almost restarted my game because of it. I did hit him with a net every time I seen him outside..but then I realize that wouldn't make the trash move out quicker so I just started TT to get him to move out and sadly I had to let someone move :(

Then I had invited a villager in from the campsite (Lobo) to knock Avery out of the 10th villager slot (Well 9th now) and after 12 time travels, Avery finally packed up!

Never letting anyone invite another villager from my town without cleaning their void first!
First of all, Avery is not a "thing". He's a very cool desert eagle.

One there was a hamster named Clay
He totally ruined my day
He moved in to my tenth space
I didn't even know his face
But I peered inside
And wanted to hide

And then endlessly hit him with a net until he moved

THE END

Don't hit them with anything else you'll trigger a friendship ladder thing completely ignore him.

This happened to me. Someone's void completely destroyed my chances of getting one of my dreamies, Flurry, and I was like what?? And it was freaking Rudy. EUGH

I am so sorry :-( just don't attack the villager! and don't worry, they'll be gone soon! nothing is permanent.
you'll get Tipper someday!

Yeah, but it felt so satisfying hitting him on the head.

Looking back on it, I might've actually gave him a chance, because that's how I liked a lot of villagers such as Bones. I guess I was too PO'd tho

Goodness I feel you. >.<
That's why it is important for guests to have clear voids before they visit, at least you'll know next time?
Also at least tipper is kinda cute, I had Rasher as an unexpected move in when this happened to me.
