I never do what my villagers say

My villagers ask for a lot, I never do they're requests, I instead decline, do you ever do your villagers requests?

The only request I do is give them food, since I carry it around with me.

Yeah, I do their requests all the time. I figure I'll use these opportunities to build friendship with them, and later in the game just mail them the furniture I want them to have in their houses.
