Lately, I've been renovating my town, and I'm not sure if I should make my town full of pink, red, and white hybrids (very girly) or a variety of colors. I'm torn because I like that cute, whimsical look of those soft, feminine colors, but on the other hand, I think it would be boring with the same colors everywhere. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.
You could probably mix it up in different places of town and have different "themed" areas. Some places would be girly while others could be a bit more colorful. You could also try and base it on what kind of villager houses/PWPs are in different parts of town.
I don't know too much about this sort of thing, but here's my opinion.
You can keep it girly, by adding colours like purple and orange. I also try to pay attention what works well with the taste of the villager living in that area. For instance, around Chrissy`s home, I got peach trees and pink roses.
A couple of blue, black or prange roses won't change the entire theme, its a matter of quality over quantity and good placement. The good thing is, nothing is permanent and you can always experiment with it. I also like the themed areas idea. I have that as well, but I still need more hybrids to complete it.
I think a variety in flower colors is nice, but its all about your taste. In the end we all use more flowers in colors we like. For me that is bright orange, black, red, purple and someday hopefully blue. Its more important to me that it complements the surroundings then to vibe a theme.
I feel like most towns I go to are a mix of everything.
So, personally, I think it's be very adorable and something different
to have a specific color/type. :3 Go for it.
I was torn with that too. In the end I did end up making everything a mix just because I couldn't surround certain male villagers' homes with red, pink, and white flowers. But no, I don't think it would be boring. It's nice to see a uniform town and if you don't like it, you can always change things.
I have most of my town in white and red roses, and it doesn't seem girly to me (I'm a guy). Maybe it's the whole way it's laid out, maybe I'm delusional. With the snow, it just seems very cold.
I do have pink and white roses near Flora's house because she's a big pink peppy ostrich.
I have another area that is white and yellow tulips, and another that is just starting to be white and red pansies. But, I'm wondering if I should just convert the whole thing over to white and red roses. I just like the way it looks better. It might be boring, though.
and if you don't like it, you can always change things.
