If you don't plan on meeting them all in your town, maybe you could visit some dream addresses? I've found that it's a really good way to get an idea of what some villagers are going to be like if I can't have them in my town or if I'm not sure about swapping one of my villagers for them.

Do you have any villagers that you especially like or a theme? Knowing your tastes might make it easier to suggest villagers since I tend to like all of them.

I'll try to come up with some suggestions.

I agree with this, meeting villagers in game is a really good way to know who you like. I never liked a few certain villagers until I saw them in game. I'd search around and see who you like if I were you. Also it'd be helpful to say who you already have.
Also my 3 favorites are Benjamin because of his sloppy house, adorable face, and he's a really laid back doggie. Pietro because of his unique design, and he's adorable and fluffy. Finally Rudy, because he looks like he hopped right out of a picture book and has an adorable button red nose.

Oh yes, sorry! My villagers at the moment are Diana, Marina, Erik, Julian (who is moving out on the 10th), Sally, Frank, Bella, Peck and Sly. And Ankha is moving in soon
